I really enjoyed this ep. I thought it was going to be boring and I usually don't like the eps centered around children or teens.

This was a pleasant surprise. The first 15 minutes had me worried, but after that it got great. Leyla can go back to accounting. Reyes is no longer annoying, but Leyla is. Islangirl calls Reyes "Annoying Smiling Agent" but that title should be passed to Leyla. She added to the ep, but if she'd been the new cast member instead of Reyes I think I would've left the show. 2 eps is ok, an occasional appearance ok, but too much would give me a headache. I must disagree with you, Rabid, that xf is swimming "in the SHARK infested M/S waters of XF the original series." It's not, unless Leyla's there. She's the one bringing up old cases and comparing the new ones to them. Either way we have a little M/S/original series creeping in.

Even with Leyla, I enjoyed the ep. I always love the "stuck in the middle of nowhere with *something*" eps, a la Ice, Firewalker, Detour. There was a little HTGSChristmas thrown in, as well as the cases Leyla mentioned, similar to M&S "imagining" they shot each other and were bleeding.

"Your lack of imagination saved us." Ha. I was worried about impending groans from the peanut gallery about Leyla putting Doggett's abilities above Mulder's. Her lack of thought saved me there!

Love Sheriff Bag-of-goo.

Towards the end I thought the ep had a tinge of Stephen King, then I decided it was very Millennium-ish. This could've been an excellent Millennium ep. I know not many of you watched CC's other show, but this one would fit in great. It was a little like the ep "Saturn Dreaming of Mercury" where it was thought that the father was the demonic one, but it was really the little boy was evil.

Poor guy *wants* to go out with Leyla? Eeew. I liked him. He was sure desperate digging up that cat for her.

Loved how they passed on the torch to D&R. It's their's now, they do a good job. They deserve a season 10...
