Subject: Miss World Canada Contestants Decend On Vancouver Author: Tommy [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 08:15:30 05/05/10 Wed Women from all over Canada are taking to the streets of Vancouver this week with thoughts of crowns and raising money dancing through their heads. But these are no ordinary women. They are the contestants for Miss World Canada, and along with competing for the title, they are raising funds for a great organization; Variety - The Children’s charity. This week-long event is taking place for the first time in Vancouver, B.C., and contestants are treated to a week’s worth of site-seeing activities in downtown Vancouver, culminating in an exciting show full of delectable visual, musical, and pageantry suspense. Pageant week takes place in downtown Vancouver with the Holiday Inn on Howe Street as its base, where delegates will participate in Value and Interview seminars, Make-up Workshops presented by London Drugs, Choreography, Dinners, Judging, Talent Shows, and opportunities to raise funds for Variety, various tours of venues such as Vancouver's Cloud 9 Revolving Restaurant, Pacific Centre and Robson Street. On Thursday, May 6th, the Miss World Canada contestants will team up with the infamous Cupcakes by Heather and Lori to produce a special edition Variety cupcake that will only be available that day at the Thurlow location. Proceeds from the sales of these cupcakes will benefit Variety – The Children’s Charity. The week will culminate on May 7th at the Chandos Pattison Theatre in Surrey, where the new Miss World Canada will be crowned in front of 1,500 attendees and over a million viewers. Tickets to this event are still available online at the Miss World Canada website.
