They get trained better while those from other provinces don't benefit from that. Why did all of the GTA girls have a professional photo from MUC posted all this time? And they had several Photoshoots? Also, pageant organizers share much more time with the GTA contestants while barely even visiting those from other provinces. It's only logical that their favorites are from GTA. Also, I would like to know why the pageant fee which supposedly covers lodging, food is different for the girls depending on where they're from? Girls from GTA pay between 700$ & 900$. Those from BC pay between 3 500$ and 4 000$ and those from Quebec pay 2 500$. And they have to pay for their own airfare. Why the difference? Subject Author Date Is it possible that the huge price difference between GTA and the rest of the country is because the GTA girls compete in prelims and pay for that? I dotn know that they do pay to compete in the prelims, or how much it is, I'm just throwing it out there that it is a possibility. Perhaps there is an 'at large' fee and a seperate 'selected thru a preliminary' fee which would explain the differences. Does anyone know if and how much the prelim for GTA is? (NT) Christi 20:45:10 06/16/10 Wed To my knowledge, GTA contestants pay $750 for the prelim, then if they make top 5 (top 10) they go to the nationals with no extra fees. Alberta pays $3500, the way this works is $2500 is the entry fee and then everyone who applies must pay $1000 training fee to interview for the pageant. BC is similar but I think they at one time hosted a prelim pageant not sure if it is still happening though. I can tell you that the contestants all wish they could pay for a prelim rather then a large interview fee. At least that way they get to expereince a pageant. GTA recieves so much more experience & training and that is why they ar ebetter prepped and keep winning. The other provinces don't have a chance to get as prepped. I mean if a girl has no modeling experience it's helpful but if they already have general knowledge about modeling it doesn't help them improve or make for top quality contenders. If it were a pageant at least they would get to practise stage presence and the stress of interviews. Most of the girls that I know who did the training weren't happy about the training fee, they wanted to compete.
