supermouth -- Jenifer, 06:46:43 05/02/02 Thu

Hey you guys - Please no more annoying voices (that means No Nicole)I hated the sound of Bess's voice and if it meant you guys had to get fired to get rid of her and come back here, I say that is all a plus. the English girl sounds cool and Chugyi or whatever her name is. I feel I have a stake in this because I am forced to listen to you in the morning, cause of my kids and now I am hooked. So please pick someone good. Hats off to Ginger for filling in, she's cool. thanks Jenifer

Vote for Courtney B. -- UTgirl, 20:30:01 05/01/02 Wed

I vote Courtney B. from this morning - she was the most natural and funny. Plus, the girl drove across the country for this!!

Courtney deserves it -- Mitchell Howie, 20:13:27 05/01/02 Wed

Courtney Bulkley should win the contest. The girl drove 1500 miles JUST FOR THE INTERVIEW, on that alone she deserves the job! You won't have to worry about her calling in sick! Furthermore, she is hilarious and fun to listen to. I would love to listen to her EVERY MORNING when I wake up.

Welcome Back / Supermouth -- Michelle, 20:00:49 05/01/02 Wed

Hey J.B. & Sandy,
I'm really really really glad you guys are back in Austin. I'd like to hear more from the girl you had on Wednesday morning. I think her name was Susan, her upbeat attitude and radio voice stood out from the rest. I'd really like to have her advance to round 3. I think she can bee a really good mix with you two and keep all of you on your toes.

Come on people! Are you serious? This decision should have been made a long time ago, right after the momento Mr. Mcquillan stepped out of the booth. His knack for humor far exceeds that of the rest of the competition and his ability to make people life is second to none. Sign him up before you miss the chance!

The Perfect Man -- Susan, 07:21:15 05/01/02 Wed

I was listening to your "Perfect Man" discussion this morning on my way to work. Aside from being an architect or a doctor, I've found him. Mark, the love of my life, has all of the qualities that your listeners believe represents the perfect man. He has an incredible sense of humor...lives well within his means...and his best friend (aside from me, of course) is our lab, Napolean. He spends his days in jeans, a T-shirt and, if possible, flip-flops. But when the time comes for him to sport a tuxedo, he struts around like he's James Bond. He tells me daily that he loves me and, at seeing me naked, declares "Ooh, Nice!!!!" He spends much more time not working out than I do, but can outrun and outhike me anytime and, as unfair as it is, maintains an incredible body. He enjoys going out occasionally but, fortunately for me, enjoys much more staying home with the dog and me and cooking out. He's an unbelievable cook...After working 10 hour days, he actually finds pleasure in coming home and cooking dinner. He's always up for new experiences...foods, travel, etc. He is a hunter, which I know is an issue with some women. I was raised by a father who hunted, though, and Mark holds the same respect as my father. He would never hunt for sport, only for food. And recently, when I scooped up an injured dove in our yard and insisted on taking it to the emergency clinic, he laughed and declared that I would be guaranteed a place in Heaven. I am very grateful to have found him, and I hope the women who made a point to call in are half as fortunate as I have been. It doesn't hurt either that he has an unbelievable ass! Susan

Supermouth Finalists -- Tina, 06:24:29 05/01/02 Wed

You've had several ok people in the studio for supermouth, but there have only been two that have really compelled me to keep listening.

Both the Brit, I think her name was Debbie, and that former intern (I forgot to write her name down) actually made it so I wanted to hear what they were going to say next.

Please put them both in the finals.

Two funny women, one talked, one didn't -- Dave, 09:16:48 04/30/02 Tue

Regarding the back-to-back appearances of the women (sorry I can't remember their names) who J.B. and Sandy described as having "two of the funniest videos we've seen"...well, one of the two might earn a spot in the finals, but the first one needs to stick with making videos. Although she had plenty of opportunities to tell a funny story about her video, or offer up a person she most idolized...she seemed to freeze. However, the girl who followed her was energetic and fun.

And about someone else's suspicion that ex-intern Courtney will eventually win the spot...I didn't hear her shot, but I strongly suspect that the winner of Supermouth will have prior radio experience. I'd be very very surprised (and pleasantly so) if the station had enough cajones to pick a true talented Austin amateur for this gig. I'd hate to think that this whole contest is just one Big Radio Tease, but...

Super Mouth -- David Michels, 06:30:26 04/30/02 Tue

In case you need a reminder, keep a spot open in round three for Courtney Bulkley. It wouldn't be fair to the other contentants to accidentally cut her before the third round, and then realize that she is the greatest person in the world, and then bring her back to win this thing. I mean... that is just not right, so keep that 3rd round spot open & save everyone the trouble.

I hate to say this... but in all honesty, I think JB&S knew who their new sidekick would be before the contest started.

Just a hunch.... I think it might be their old intern, Courtney.

JB's comment regarding male and female strippers -- Judy Lynn, 10:37:43 04/29/02 Mon

JB-
I know that you didn't mean to be harsh when you commented this morning that "women file charges, men tip extra" for being fondled by a stripper. Not only did my jaw hit the floor, but I almost peed myself. Kudos to Martha Lee (I think that was her name, the SuperMouth contestant with the nice voice)and Ginger for not reaming you right there and then. They handled it like pros. As for your comment, I do admit that you're right, there is a different level of standards for male and female strippers, and all I have to say about the way that woen treat male strippers and the way male strippers treat the women they perform for is...

Ick!

take it easy... -- Amy, 13:04:51 04/28/02 Sun

I love JB & Sandy & listen every morning...Those Dallas people are wacko!

I have hesitated to call in or mention this to you guys...but, well recent events will allow me to by pass my first instinct which is to shut my trap...

Anyway, take it easy on Steven...sometimes y'all are a bit harsh with him...and yeah, it all appears as though he takes it well and all is laughed off...BUT, things aren't always what they seem. Although he acts out quite a bit and well, some would say deserves the razzing he gets...I guess I just have to wonder what is behind why he acts that way (maybe nothing) and I hope all's okay in there.

I just keep thinking about that kid in school that acted like a freak and NOONE hesitated to ostracize him because of it, but it really was a cry out because the kid was in pain...no one knew 'til it was too late.

Okay -off my soapbox. I guess just think about what you say. This is not coming from one of those people that doesn't have a sense of humor...I can dish it out just as well as I can take it...But there have been a few times recently where I just kind of cringed at the way y'all talked to him...Remember that a lot of folks listen to you, and in some ways that makes you a role model. God, I think I sound like my Dad!

You guys are the best!

I think Gay Steven is halarious. I like listening to him when he calls in, and even though he doesn't get to advance to the next round, I think ya'll should keep some kind of contact with him at least every once in awhile so that those of us who really like him get that entertainment... now and then. The people that don't like him don't have to put up with him that much - only as much as Sandy does. Sounds good! o.k. - deal - deal.

Gay Steven MUST be disqualified. -- Dave, 07:59:14 04/26/02 Fri

Never mind that he's annoying, he broke the rules. If he can't show up at the right time today, why should anyone believe he'll show up at the right time in the future?

Plus, he used the lame "but I drove from Dallas" excuse...and he told us just minutes earlier that he was in PFLUGERVILLE last night! So he wasn't late from Dallas...he was late from Pflugerville.

Gay Steven, you are the weakest link. Buh bye.

I have been a long time listener of this show, at least 5 years. JB and Sandy are very proud to have a show where they don't bash people or make fun of them. Your email shows that you're insecure and just mean. If they lose you as a listener it would be a service to the station. I don't know Ronda, but anyone who is a teacher has my vote of credibility. I liked her voice and her positivity. It takes guts to go on the radio which is more than I can say for you "disgusting chick", who won't even give her identity. Good luck to all the contestants and ignore all the mean jealous people.

Supermarket Pet Peeve/Stress Inducer -- Dave, 07:28:31 04/25/02 Thu

You missed one of the supermarket pet peeves. How about the Cashier Trainee who is posted on the Express Checkout Lane?

This lane is supposed to FLY, yet the supermarkets always stick their trainees there. "Manager to 12 for an override. Manager to 12 for a check. Manager to 12 for a void." Come on! Put the trainees on the lanes where the Old Woman In A Shoe is stocking up for the month by filling two carts with macaroni and canned hams, not on the lanes which are supposed to move quickly!

Peevedly yours,
Dave

Supermouth -- Brian, 07:14:54 04/25/02 Thu

I've been keeping up with the contest as best as I can, and have a few people I think would be great for the job. Although, one thing I realized was the "uneven" playing field that these people are being judged by! Obviously these people have the gift of gab, or they wouldn't have made it this far. But I notice that many have nothing to say on air, why? One, it could be "stage fright", or two (the one I'm leaning more toward), they have nothing to work with (mainly happens during free phones)! One girl lucks out with "chick chat" (i.e. a no brainer, it's basically sharing their opinion), the other (who probably would have done well with that topic) gets stuck with someone calling in about tennis shoes or something equally unexciting that you'd have to rack your brain to think of something "unlame" to throw in! What if one of the guy contestants got chic chat?! Oh well..... I still enjoy listening. Good luck with your decision guys!

One opinion on Thursday Supermouth -- Dave, 06:36:44 04/25/02 Thu

The woman named Chris who appeared between 6:40-6:50 seemed very natural. She was funny without being overbearing, didn't say "um" too much, and flowed into the conversation quite well.

And I must apologize publicly for some e-mails I sent you guys while in Dallas complaining about "where's Tom Jones?", "where's the Mega Mix?" and so on. I realize now that you weren't the ones responsible for taking a perfectly good morning show and messing it all up...it was the idiot program director and/or station manager. My apologies, and welcome back to Austin.

Now...where's Tom Jones? Where's the Mega Mix?

SuperMouth -- Not a sore looser-just observant, 19:32:34 04/24/02 Wed

Hey Guys...I want to say first of all that I have been listening to your show for a long time now and I love you guys. But I noticed while looking at your SuperMouth finalists pictures on your website that most of the finalists are cute young girls...some with big boobs of course. I know you said before that no matter who you picked that you were going to get some criticism. But is it just coincidence or is it just that most of the people who sent in tapes happened to be good looking girls? Just wondering. I don't know which girl was the one that videotaped from her closet but I'm thinking she probably was cute too because when you played her tape on the air I thought it was very boring. She didn't really have any personality. Then Sandy said..."I like her-put her in the yes box". At that time my first thought was she must be cute. But I decided to give you guys the benefit of the doubt...until I saw the pictures. Anyway, I just thought I'd put in my opinion. I hope you don't take it too personal. I still love you guys and will continue to listen to you...but honestly, I wouldn't have put too much effort into my tape if I thought all I had to do was be cute. I guess the real test will be when you finally pick your winner.

that maybe you were on vacation or something. But that was a while back.
Did you move stations? I was just wondering, b/c I really liked your show

in the mornings. It's very annoying. Are you only in Austin now or what?
Please let me know.
I am sure you get alot of emails everyday. So if you get the time, please

Thanks.

Just wanted to say that Kelly Nutt was great this morning on the radio. I hope ya'll pick her for your next side kick. Also, you guys are great. I look forward to listening to you every morning. It always gets my day off to a good start.

Super Mouth Vote -- Arturo Morosoff, 12:52:05 04/24/02 Wed

Hi, I just wanted to place a vote for Lori Peters as the new Super Mouth. I thought her stories about twisting her ankle and bathroom conversations being overheard were hilarious!

Back in Dallas -- Betty, 12:37:32 04/24/02 Wed

Driving an hour to work seems much longer now that you are not on the air here in Dallas. I was so happy to find you in the first place. Not much to listen or laugh to now. Gone back to the WOLF, "Buenos Dias Tejas" for the traffic. Miss you and it would sure be great to have you back on the air here.

Thoughts on Supermouth -- H. Rutland, 08:28:46 04/24/02 Wed

Mornin' guys--I just wanted to put in my two cents re: the Supermouth contest:

a) The chick that talked about her hairy toes completely wigged me out--maybe it was just too early in the morning.
b) I felt the contestant who did the news yesterday (about Robert Blake and Sly Stallone) was entirely too negative. She was funny for awhile, but your show is really positive overall so I don't think she'd be a good fit.
c) There is no denying that Thundermama is cool, but I personally would like a more Gen-X (or Gen-Y...I'm dating myself here) type to compliment the two of you.
d) Gay Steven is going to burst into flames and injure your staff. While there are certainly people he entertains, I feel his behavior (perticularly his incessant advances toward Sandy) only serve to further stereotypical notions people hold about homosexuals. He is every manly man's worst nightmare, and is NOT representative of the gay and lesbian population in general.
e) "Spoon Girl" was funny and real this morning--I still don't quite know what was up with the egg-in-a-cup thing, but I was impressed that she handled a potentially mortifying situation (her mother calling in) very well. You two have said from the beginning that whomever you choose must be willing to let the listeners into their lives; I think your question is answered about Spoon Girl. So far she's been my favorite, and hope she'll get a chance to go to round three.

That's all the folks I've heard so far, but wanted to let you know my thoughts. Ultimately the decision is yours, but as a faithful listener, I hope you'll take some of the audience suggestions into consideration.
H.

You MUST ask the British girl back for at least one more round. She was hilarious! Welcome back to Austin, by the way.

Supermouth -- Kelly Goldwait, 07:44:54 04/24/02 Wed

I can't believe I am writing this but I so enjoyed listening to Debbie from England, that she left me wanting to hear more. I am a mother of four children 5 1/2, 4, 2 1/2 and nine months so I don't really have time for much of anything! However, I enjoy the show and listen during the drive to my kids schools. I hope you guys enjoyed her as much as I did and she comes back!

SuperMouth - 2 Cents -- Disgusted Chick In Austin, 07:30:21 04/24/02 Wed

Just my 2-cents.... lose the Rhonda Gray chick. "If you survive 4 seasons with a man than it is really love" OH PLEASE. Those of us that know her, will never listen to 94.7 again if she is going to become a permanent addition. Her reputation will not serve you well in Austin.

Supermouth contestant Lori Peters -- Joseph Wiseman, 07:30:15 04/24/02 Wed

I just wanted to let everyone know that Lori Peters was famous around work for her supermouth! She could be heard in the men's bathroom through the ventilation system while talking at her normal level of speech! She almost never shuts up either! I wish her the best of luck and look forward to hearing more!

did you leave Dallas to be honest the show sucks without you and Sandy.

Your gone -- lillie, 20:17:24 04/23/02 Tue

Well it's about time I found you. Unfortunately, I read on the message board that you and Sandy are no longer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Wow. I, just one year ago, found you guys and had stopped switching around looking for a good station. I listened to 106 when you were on the are, back in 93 - or so, but after a few years of listening to Kelly whine, I couldn't make myself listen anymore.

Anyway, I am switching stations and hear that familiar laugh of yours and immediately knew I found my new station. Now your gone.

Well, hope everything goes well for you, Erin and your new baby. Take care of your self.

Missing you in Fort Worth, Lillie.

supermouth -- Austin Adams, 14:36:46 04/23/02 Tue

I really enjoyed making my Supermouth audition tape(I was the "Chicken Man" downtown and playing bass). It's taken me along time to realize that radio/tv/music/entertainment was/were the field(s) I wanted to pursue. I had almost an hour's worth of footage that I think you guy's would have loved, I hope y'all laughed at what was there in that three minutes. I've decided to go back to school at the ripe age of 29 to study RTF (radio,tv,film) and music; one day I'll get my dream job. If there are any other jobs available for someone with a ton of sales experience it would be cool to hear from you. Congrats to all 2nd rounders and best of luck to all of you. Contest -- Jeannie, 07:58:29 04/23/02 Tue

Just my two cents on the Supermouth contest. You had a couple of girls on this morning that were good. Cute, funny and chimed right in there. Not too hep on Thunder Mama. Funny but not quite right. One comment tho...will have to stop listening if Gay Stephen gets the job. He is SOOOOOO annoying! And his whiney nasaly voice sort of sends me over the top. Wish I had sent in a tape but we might be leaving Austin again. Take care...glad you're back in Austin where you belong.

My Picks for Supermouth -- Melody Moore, 07:37:35 04/23/02 Tue

I just wanted to say that so far there are two contestants that I like and would enjoy listening to in the mornings. I think Thunder Mama was funny and adorable, I also liked Cody Lloyd, she too was funny and she didn't get on my nerves at all. I laughed listening to the both of them. I can't choose between the two. I know ya'll will make the right choice no matter who it turns out to be.

I agree with Angie... Steven for Supermouth!!! -- Hippie, 06:48:45 04/23/02 Tue

Angie has the right idea! Steven would be perfect for Supermouth! He is funny, spontaneous, and one of the nicest people I've ever met! He'd be perfect for the job... he'd bring a new twist to the Jb and Sandy morning show... You've already got the married father as well as two single guys; all that's missing now is the gay guy. I think to have a good show you need total diversity with at least one person that every body can connect with. Therefor, Steven would be perfect... And Sandy, you can just suck it up! ((He only does it to get you goin'))

Kids Locked in Cars -- Sue, 06:15:22 04/23/02 Tue

I heard you guys talking this moring about the danger of locking kids in vehicles. This is a very real danger, especially in the hot Texas summer. I thought your listeners should know about a service that will unlock your vehicle quickly and safely - and the service is free if there is a child locked inside.

Pop-A-Lock is the country's largest car door unlocking service. They will arrive at the scene very quickly. They will unlock your vehicle fast, and without any damage. Pop-A-Lock has rescued over 1,700 children from locked vehicles in Central Texas in the past year.

Next time your child is locked inside a vehicle, call Pop-A-Lock, along with your local Fire Department. The local number for Pop-A-Lock can be found in your Yellow Pages under locksmith.

Freephones/Supermouth -- Cheri, 18:40:30 04/22/02 Mon

About freephones: I always hear you guys saying the phone lines are all open for free phones, and just wanted to let you know that I always want to call but I'm just about to drive into work! :( I think it may be the same for many people about that time. Supermouth: I entered a tape, I waited till last minute because I'm a workaholic and taped it at like 1 am the night before, I haven't been called yet, and guess what? I'm not whining. If you don't get picked, it's not personal; you're just not right for the job. Give it a break. P.S. Glad you're back. :)

Why they left Dallas - they were F I R ED! -- Jason, 08:31:52 04/22/02 Mon

I have been reading many of the messages from people in Dallas, and it seems that they don't know why JB and Sandy left Dallas. They even want to know why they never said goodbye. You should know that JB and Sandy are classier than that, they would have said bye if given the chance. They were actually F I R E D from the radio station in Dallas. It was not their choice. With open arms, everyone here in Austin welcomed them back. So for you people in Dallas, it was nothing against you. That radio station just did not know what they had. Just like that old hairband song from the 80s, "Don't know what you got, till its gone!"

Bad sports -- Terrie Blackman, 07:50:07 04/22/02 Mon

I wanted you guys to know that I appreciated having a chance to be in your contest and tell you a few funny stories - like my son riding his mattress down the staircase and playing Taboo with friends and embarrassing myself with "It's the stuff you put on the hair above the balls that look!" (Mascara) I had fun making my tape, even though I didn't get picked for round two.

There seems to be some disgruntled contestants that are all ticked off because they didn't move forward. Austin is an entertainment town. There are so many talented people in this area. I used to do stand-up and I was amazed at how many funny people there were here in Austin. If they didn't make it to round two, it doesn't mean they aren't funny, maybe in some cases it does, but most likely they didn't "click" with you guys. You can meet people and for some reason you're drawn to certain ones and their sense of humor more than others. It isn't personal, it's just the way things are.

I hope your listeners will continue to listen and lighten up. Everyone knew from the beginning that only one person would win. The bad sports that didn't make it to round two sound like people you wouldn't have wanted to work with anyway. Life is too short to take everything so seriously!

Peace out,

Terrie

"Rigged -- Diana, 13:08:28 04/19/02 Fri

I entered a really thought-out tape for Supermouth, and ignored everyone when they told me that the contest was rigged and it was a scheme to get more listeners. Well, it worked. I didnt listen to the Morning show until the SuperMouth contest, and now I'll go back to listening elsewhere. I should've listened to my friends and family. This tape cost me a lot of time and money. Supermouth -- Ashley P, 06:05:22 04/22/02 Mon

JB & Sandy,
I listen to ya'll all the time, and this is the first time for me to send you and e-mail.
My sister Jennifer sent in a tape for the Supermouth contest, but I'm guessing she didn't make it to Round 2.
I'm kinda shocked because unlike many of the people who auditioned and maybe even some of the finalist, she does a lot with your show.
She's been on the single mother outings and the bikes for kids stuff. She also been on the air with you numerous times talking about various topics and ya'll seem to really dig what she says.
I'm not writing this so that ya'll will pick her (Okay maybe I am). I just think that she is perfect for the show.
I can only imagine how excited she would be if you called her and told her she had gotten in. Her name is Jennifer F.
Cute little red head. I think she stood on her head for the video?
Thanks,
Ashley

Memphis In May -- Rob, 06:48:51 04/20/02 Sat

I am so glad to be back in Austin hacving lived the past 4 years in Memphis TN. However there is one thing I think Austin should try and copy from Memphis and that is the music fest the first weekend of May. Go to www.Memphisinmay.org and check out the bands they have. Kid Rock, Better than Ezra, Puddle of Mud, Counting Crows, and lots more. Oh yeah and some guy named Hootie with a Blowfish. Glad to hear you guys each day, I was not in Austin when you moved to Dallas so that means nothing to me, but you make my drive into work better.

Hey! Glad you guys are back in Austin. I moved from Austin to Dallas to go to school 2 years ago and witnessed the morning show move, but didn't like the double-cast. You guys were not meant to be on 100.3 - it's not your crowd. You defintely belong in Austin, but I will miss you because I live in Dallas now. But good luck! Thanks for the laughs!

THANKS FOR COMING BACK -- Ana Duarte, 19:20:23 04/19/02 Fri

Ever since I moved to Austin in '98 I loved to listen to your show every morning driving to work. When I found out you had gone to Dallas I was so sad. (My husband and I had moved to Dallas but we hated it and came back 5 months later.) It wasnt the same anymore listening to JB and Sandy talk about Dallas stuff. When I found out you were BACK in Austin I was so happy. I told my husband we had to go and celebrate. This is home for you guys and AUSTIN is so proud to have you back. You are a success in all of your eyes.

Hello.... -- Lori, 14:40:50 04/19/02 Fri

Hello....

I'm really confused. What happened to JB, Sandy and Bess? Whoever is on 100.3 now sucks!! Bess is fine but the other, not a good choice. Please let me know what is going on as 100.3 USED to be my favorite station?

Thanks,

Lori

Rigged -- Diana, 13:08:28 04/19/02 Fri

I entered a really thought-out tape for Supermouth, and ignored everyone when they told me that the contest was rigged and it was a scheme to get more listeners. Well, it worked. I didnt listen to the Morning show until the SuperMouth contest, and now I'll go back to listening elsewhere. I should've listened to my friends and family. This tape cost me a lot of time and money. It was professional and funny...definately a 2nd round pick. yet, someone that was sitting in her CLOSET got to the second round. THIS WAS RIGGED from the beginning.

The funny is gone in Dallas -- Diana, 06:35:59 04/19/02 Fri

Can't believe it! Just thought like everyone else- it's spring break... they are just on vacation. Dude. Well, I liked Bess.... she is still great but not the same without JB and Sandy. Alex is trying. I will still listen to 100.3. Can't STAND the other stations. Wish ya the best but miss listening in the mornings on the way to work!

Steven -- Dorina, 06:19:15 04/19/02 Fri

I am so glad Steven made the second round! I just love him, he's incredibly funny... Sandy, you shouldn't be so mean to him, he's such a sweatheart :)

Question - on another note... do you know if Ozzy writes his own music? My husband was saying that his new song, on new album, Dreaming (not sure if that's the whole title), was a remake.... but I thought Ozzy wrote his own music...

Thanks, Welcome Back!

YOU LEFT!!!!! -- Steve Vocelka, 12:21:53 04/18/02 Thu

Geeeezzzzz.... One minute I am listening to you ripping Kidd about all of his crap he was pulling.... on my way out of town.... and then the next minute (when I got back) you were gone! My daughter turned me on to you (SWT). I used to listen to The Ticket and Kidd... then you came along and I "almost" couldn't turn you off! I was listening to less and less of Kraddick and more of you and The Ticket. In fact.... at the end... I think I was even listening to you more then The Ticket. I was going to call and tell you that but then you were gone. I called and got some guy on the phone and he said you went back to Austin. I have to tell you that I was lost for awhile. Now I just listen to 1310... am fed up with Kraddick.

What happened?

Good luck to you and your wife and baby-

Suited to Austin -- Jenny, 14:14:56 04/17/02 Wed

When you first went to Dallas I was pretty certain it wasn't going to work for you guys on a long term basis. I'm from Dallas (unfortunately) and I hate Dallas radio. They are a different breed. I was accustomed to hating all morning radio shows until I discovered yours several years ago. Unfortunately, your show was somehow quite different when you were on the air in Dallas. I found myself not tuning in as often. One day I turned on the radio a couple weeks ago and I heard you guys talking with Ginger. Despite the fact that you were discussing some random topic, I could tell that you were broadcasting from Austin. More relaxed conversation maybe? Not trying as hard to entertain the masses perhaps? The show feels almost right again. Sorry that you guys were made to feel like you failed. I think you belong in Austin or a town with similar values/tastes/interests. Glad to have you back.

JB & Sandy, I am so glad that you two are back. My morning wasn't complete while you were off the air. Missed you! I listen to you every morning. I even have MIX 94.7 set on my office's radio. You make me laugh every morning and I thank you for that. I hope I can be a part of the show and bring that type of feeling to the listeners as well as you do. Look for my Super Mouth entry!
Again, it is great to have the two of you back in Austin!

Must have megamix!! -- Mary, 21:33:33 04/16/02 Tue

I've got to get my Tom Jones fix and megamix. I was so psyched to hear "underwear" as your first official song back live in Austin. I haven't gotten to listen the full time on Fridays (darn work gets in the way) so maybe you are running it later. If you haven't reinstituted it PLEASE DO!

Conjunction junction, Tom Jones, Hair bands, I loved it all. Well maybe except for the all sad songs one. That just bummed me out.

Maybe a vote on the website? JB clean that thing up when you get your roadrunner dude. It's in woeful shape.

So glad you are local - started to ditch you the last few months as it was painful to hear you go out of your way to not say Austin.

JB and Sandy,

Please, Please come back. Even my kids ( 11 years and 9 years old )are asking for you. I thought that you guys were on holliday and this week it finally sank in that you weren't coming back. So I went on internet, only to discover that you are really gone. I want to switch from radiostation, I don't like my mornings anymore. I'm from Belgium ( sorry for the writing mistakes) and this brings back my homesickness. I'm really lost without you guys.
Thanks for the many fun mornings. I hope everything is going very well for you guys overthere. Austin is so lucky to have you back.

Hey JB,

I just wanted to let you know that you and Sandy are terribly missed in Dallas. I am very happy however, that you stayed on the air in Austin. I listened to you when you were with Kidd and then when you guys came back here last year. My mornings were so great with you guys on the radio. Your show was the first radio program I've ever called into. I really hope you guys have a long run in Austin. I'm now forced to listen to the few sound bites that are on the website, but that's better than nothing. Again, thank you for the good times.

BITTERSWEET NEWS -- RAQUEL, 14:24:24 04/13/02 Sat

I finally sat down to check your website for information concerning your whereabouts. Went to my hometown, Austin, for springbreak only to return to no more JB and Sandy. I figured you were on vacation but after two weeks realized that Alex and Bess were here to stay. I didn't want to believe that you were permanently gone from the Dallas airwaves so I avoided checking your site. Since Bess has more airtime now she is twice as annoying. She was better playing off of Sandy in particular. When I found out this past summer that we were moving to Dallas I felt as though we at least had JB and Sandy to listen to. It felt familiar and made Dallas seem less foreign. Dallas is a fine city, however, being a native Austinite, I'm so happy for my hometown. I will at least get to hear you when I'm visiting family. I now listen to 99.1 in the mornings. Good Luck!

Welcome Back! -- Laura L.Davis-Ake, 11:22:38 04/12/02 Fri

Welcome back to Austin guys!
I was still a loyal listener when you were in Dallas, but I did notice a change in the tone of the show. You guys seem more relaxed now that you are home.
I have been listening to the show for three years and I really love it. I am another one of those people who hate most morning shows, and I am still shocked about how much I am in to your show. I was very upset when I thought you guys were off the air and relieved when I found out what had happened and that you were coming back.
Although I do have a couple of comments-
1. To the dumb guy in Dallas- I am a teacher, a professional, not a freak or an out of work techie -there is a lot more to Austinites than that- and even if I was who cares- jerk!
2.Sandy -about the cats-you apparently don't understand- I am a member of Austin Feral Cats and what you are refering to to a program called TNR-trap, neuter, and release- it is a very thought out organized program. It is being implemented nation wide and is more humane and effective than just putting them down. You have stumbled upon a controled and maintained feral colony. That is most likely registered with the SPCA -I know mine is. So please research this before you make a judgement. We are not crazy.

A loyal listener,

Ok I came into this message board to ask where you guys are, and after reading all the letters now I know you guys left Dallas to go back to Austin. I never write radio stations, or call in, I am always just a listener, but I really got hooked with you guys, I drive a long way to work, and you guys made my drive pleasant. Why didn't you guys at least say good-bye to all of your listeners, I think we deserve at least an explanation, or at least a warning that you were leaving. Bess and Alex are pretty good, they really are trying but it's not the same without you, can you please write back when and tell me what happened? We really miss you very much, but if you are not coming back then I guess all I have left is to wish you guys all the luck in the world, you are great!!

Where oh where have JB and Sandy gone? -- Lacy, 13:23:45 04/08/02 Mon

Why did you leave me here all alone? I've been listening to you guys since I was a freshman in college at UT in 1996-97. When I graduated, I moved to Dallas to go to the SMU School of Law. Life was tough for me in Dallas because it was so different from Austin (which I loved). My first semester here I clung to other Texas-Exes for support in Big D. Then a miracle occurred - JB and Sandy moved to Dallas too! Everything was going to be okay now. I could wake up in the morning and not dread the crap that passes for a morning show here. But alas, I got married and went on my honeymoon March 9-17. When I returned, excited to start my new life and finally feeling like all was right with my little world, a crushing blow was felt when you were no longer there for me that fateful Monday morning. While I do like Bess, she's nothing without y'all. Where have you gone, and can I pick your show up here? Or must I make it my goal to get good enough grades that I can move back to Austin when I graduate? I feel so disconnected. I think I need closure. Please give me an update.

Not usually so dramatic,
Lacy

You guys inspire me -- Sue, 08:34:37 04/08/02 Mon

JB and Sandy, I admit it. I have not listend to your show since the beginning of the year because quite frankly, the whole Dallas thing was not very interesting to me. I tried to stay loyal and did for the past year, but when I got laid off from work in October, I began channel surfing, looking for something more "Austinite". I don't know why I turned to Mix 94.7 this morning but when I heard you say that you were "Live and in Austin", I had to get on the website to see what this was all about. Needless to say, I am exstatic to hear that you are back in Austin!!! The two of you have always inspired me to go out in the community and do what's right. Your involvement in Austin's community events had been deeply missed. It is great to have you back. I am proud that you stood up to your values and beliefs, something that I have always admired about you. I don't have to channel surf anymore!

Just wanted to let y'all know that we miss you here. The morning show is horrible. I feel so bad for Bess. Bless her heart-- I know she's trying. But there are only so many different ways that you can talk about the weather or what time it is. She's not getting any help from the people she's working with. If you're not capable of doing a morning show, you shouldn't do one. Anyway, I hope you love being back home. It's not the same here without you.

Just wanted to say that I am glad ya'll are back in Austin. As a long time San Antonio listener I could pick you up regardless of what city you were in but the tone of your show definitely got a Jerry Springer edge to it. Listening to Bess talk or laugh was like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard and why did we need "tabloid trash" and sending people to porn shops? Since you have been back, the show has fewer commercials and less down time(thank God) and a lighter tone that is greatly appreciated at that early hour of the morning. Forget supermouth, bring back Bridget and her made-for-radio voice.

supermouth -- Robert, 09:10:10 04/05/02 Fri

JB & Sandy, and all other parties who may be involved in the selection of the SuperMouth,
I'm a loyal listener here in Austin, and I'm glad you guys are back in town--it's hardly a "tail between the legs" endeavor to return to the greatest city in Texas!! Be proud and loud.
On the subject of loud, please consider this as my vote for Jill, the candidate whose tape you aired around 7:50 this morning (Friday, Apr. 5). Creative, witty, sharp, and clearly a tight personality fit for you guys and your morning program, I think Jill's the One. I understand that listeners' votes may not be an official part of this contest, but as you've demonstrated already, our EARS are! Otherwise, you wouldn't let us hear these tapes. When I heard Jill's poem, voice, and demeanor this morning, I thought, "the contest should stop right here and now--I'm hooked; I can already hear Jill busting y'all's chops every morning."

P.S. "Jill" is a simple, cute, one-syllable radio name with a nice ring to it, but more importantly, some attitude. "JB and Sandy in the Morning, with Jill." "JB, Sandy and Jill in the Morning." I can hear it already.

Where are you guys? -- Amy, 05:35:10 04/05/02 Fri

Why? Are you still on in Austin? I can't stand the new guy. Are they trying to portray young and hip? I think they sound awful. I am really going to miss you and sandy. I have been listening since I first heard you in Austin, 5 years ago. I moved to Dallas 1-1/2 years ago and was delighted to hear that you were here. Again, I'm really going to miss both of your wonderful stories and your voices every morning. I feel like a part of my comfort level is gone. I wish both of you the best of luck in your careers and your lives.

Sincerely,
Amy

Supermouth -- Ali Brier, 05:08:19 04/05/02 Fri

This is to whoever the guy was that JB and Sandy played on the radio this morning for the Supermouth audition. You had all the different voices (Godfather, Kermit, etc...) and were described as having good hair and looking like Carmine Raguso. Just wanted to say, GOOD JOB. You were awesome! Definitely "sidekick" material. Very impressed here and wanted to send the admiration your way......

Soooo glad that you guys are back! Love the show even with the changes, and think you guys are doing a great job adapting! Can't wait to see who you pick for supermouth...sounds like it's going to be very, very interesting. Peace Out, Crys.

edwin mccain interview -- brenda martin, 19:02:31 04/04/02 Thu

hi guys it is my birthday today and I was so excited this morning when you let me on the air to say hi to my favorite artist in the world edwin McCain. I was so happy but my cell phone was cutting in and out on me but I heard him sing Happy birthday to me sort of, I would be very, very happy if I could get a tape of that I missed it and I am just sick over it. I am so glad you guys are back in Austin, Rock on guys and Please let me know if i can somehow here this birthday song again

At least now you can be happy -- Meleigh, 18:38:10 04/04/02 Thu

I also miss you guys. I moved from MO and lived in Austin for about a year and a half. I loved listening to you. I had heard no radio station like the mix before. Then I had to move to Dallas, but was grateful to still be able to tune you in. I was very saddened to hear you leave, but glad at the same time that you were able to go back to Austin. Like everyone else has said, maybe you can be more free to do what you want there. I have nothing to listen to in the mornings now. Kidd Krappy stinks, and nothing else is stimulating. The only bright spot in my work day now is to hear Russ Martin in the afternoon for an hour.

Hope you guys are able to have many years to come in Austin, and congratulations on your new baby JB.

I miss you guys -- Missy, 12:31:38 04/04/02 Thu

I greatly miss you both! I will miss hearing about Raleigh, and how she will be growing up...... I am so sorry that Dallas didn't do you justice. I LOVED listening to you all in the morning. Sandy cracks me up, I feel like he is my little brother. One minute I can't stand the way he is (relationship wise) and the next minute I couldn't love him anymore than I already do. He cracks me up! J.B. is awesome too. I will never forget the day that J.B. and Erin came on the air and said they were pregnant. I was coming into work from the doctors office from a sonogram that I had that day, I was just crying for you two - emotional me - I thought that was so sweet! We will miss you so much!!!! I still can't believe you're gone!

Sincerely,
A lost and lonely listener!

Welcome Back -- Mikki, 11:42:22 04/04/02 Thu

Guys I am sooooooo glad your back. I've listened to you for years and just think your the best. I've wanted to come out to one of your gigs and meet you but have always been to shy because I have a HUGE BIG MAJOR crush on Sandy. ( I can't believe I really put that in here after all this time! ). That is also why I haven't tried out for SUperMOuth...trust me...I would be the perfect one! But my nerves about meeting Sandy face to face like that got the better of me. JB your wonderful too but there is just something about Sandy. I'm so glad your back!!!! This just means I have to put my nerves in my pocket and actually come meet you guys sometime. Hope to see you soon!

Ginger Mackenzie's Web site -- dquack, 10:12:55 04/04/02 Thu

This one is for Gay Steven -- if you want to know more about Ginger Mackenzie, her Web site is www.gingermack.com. She really is great and one of Austin's favorite singers. I moved to Austin two years ago and got tuned into her from guest spots on the JB & Sandy show. One of the things I missed most when they were in Dallas was all the local muscians they used to have on the air. I'm glad they have started back with Ginger and really loved the Edwin McCain interview this morning.

I was going to ask a friend of mine about it because I am completely clueless but can't remember anything about it except that it was _________ Steamers. Was is Cleveland or something like that? Please help jog my memory. Not asking for an explaination just the name. Thanks

Austin's Gain -- Heather, 07:51:59 04/04/02 Thu

Even though I am an Austinite (born and bred) living (unfortunately) in (yuck) Dallas, I give every person in Austin permission to dog on Dallas as much as you want. One bright side to moving here was that I could continue to listen to you guys, but I'd rather have you in Austin than here too. You guys were suffocated here. You couldn't be yourselves, and if you couldn't do that what was the point of having you here? I have listened to you guys since the first day you were on the air in Austin, and after six years it's weird to not wake up with you. I feel displaced! But I'm haooy for you- you did have listeners in Dallas- I'm just sorry that they aren't as awesome as Austin listeners! Miss you!

hey y'all, Ive been listening since i moved to the states six years ago, and man i loved the show all the way. I noticed the morning show got a little dry when y'all went to dallas, but im excited that you guys are back. I was astonished by the letter y'all got from your bosses in dallas, but they dont know jack. I also wanted to inquire about what happened to ode o' the day?? i remember in 7th grade i used to be the cool cat on campus and i'd do my own ode of the day, using the same topic as y'all. Man was i sliick. But anyways, glad to have you back and im excited to see who will be your next side kick!!

The Horror -- Kristi, 17:07:16 04/03/02 Wed

The nerve of the execs in Dallas to take the best morning show off of the air. Now the only thing we have left to listen to are a bunch of fake deejays pushing their sugary dribble. Thank goodness for car CD players. We still have Bess but it just isn't the same without the guys. You may be gone, but you are not forgotten. JB & Sandy, we miss you.

Dallas loss -- Adriana, 10:50:46 04/03/02 Wed

I can't believe this guys! I am so upset about losing jb and sandy in the mornings. I live in Austin about 3 years ago and loved the morning show. I moved back home (Brownsville) and this year I got married and moved to Dallas. Radio stations...couldn't relate to any. Finally one day I tuned in to 100.3 and was so happy to hear they were on the air. I felt at home. I love the show. It is Dallas' loss. Let's rally and get them back. Maybe another station.?

There are numerous things on the bebsite that talk about Bess and Tim, the thing is, they're no longer on the cast, they shouldn't get the recognition on the website. Please fix these things because they are driving my crazy!! Thanks a bunch...Hippie

NO WAY!! They got rid of the best morning show in Dallas. I was driving home this weekend ( I drive through Austin to get home) and I tuned in to 94.7 to see per chance if you and Sandy were on the morning show. It was almost like old times! I heard you, Sandy, and Ginger Mackenzie!! Well, if you ask me, it's Dallas' loss. My husband just got transfered to Temple, so I'll still be able to hear you guys!!

Hey JB and Sandy
I just happened to check in on the website to see how Jb's baby is doing and I see that you guys are back in Austin. I moved from Austin to San Antonio in July and well after only being in Austin for 41/2 years I truly felt like I was born and bred in Austin. Nothing seems to have gone right in San Antonio and well I have come to realized that I truly miss Austin and well now I have the best incentive to move back. JB and Sandy, I welcome you back to Austin and I will call you guys as soon as I come home. I can't wait for Bike's for Kids!!!!!!!!
Love You GUYS!!!!

Is there going to be any way we can listen to the show in dallas again? Like Howard Stern is on in the mornings are y'all ever going to do that? Morning radio sucks now, I used to tune the traffic out on my way to work each morning, but now I have to listen to something else, and I miss the morning laughs that wake me up more in the mornings!! Hope you are having fun in Austin, I'm hoping to move down there myself sometime soon hopefully then my message will be completely irrelevant :) Y'all take care

JB & Sandy,

We are going crazy here in Dallas wondering where you guys dissapeared to,
so I went to you web site and see on the message board that your GONE!!!
Could ya'll possibly post a letter at least telling the Dallas listeners
whats happened? The people here really are wondering whats happened. Your
show was great and we will miss you. Is there anything we can do to bring it
back? Protest? Call WILD 100 and complain? Let us know... we cant stand Kidd
Kraddick and that whiney Kelly. You guys were FUN to listen to, and Bess was
a great addition to the show. JB, when you left Kidd's show we were sad to
see you and when you came back on your own, we were elated to hear your
voice again. Sandy, I had never heard you before but you grew on us and we
miss you too!!! Good luck guys, Austin is a lucky market, hopefully we will
hear your voices again here in Dallas....

Thanks for a great ride
Charlotte

I have found Cindy's match! -- Rebecca Sexton, 10:19:45 04/02/02 Tue

I listened to Cindy's daughter talk about her this morning and I know the PERFECT guy for her. He volunteers at every SXSW. Is a HUGE live music buff. Your ex-hippie type with a heart of gold. Fully employed, 2 sons, 1 ex-wife. And she lives in another state! Can hang with best of them and be in the office the next day at 6am! Stable, intellectual, great sense of humor. And to top it off handsome! What time should he call in in the morning?

Let me just say a HUGE THANK YOU for coming back to Austin.
Thanks to everyone responsible and the hard work I'm sure it took. The airways sure were sad with no JB & Sandy the few weeks you were off the air. It was the greatest to hear you back! I drove to work for two days with tears of gladness in my eyes. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. (Stupid to get so attached to a morning radio show). Welcome back to Austin-if we aren't calling this week like we were-don't worry-your many, many loyal Austin listeners who didn't desert the ship when you moved to Dallas, are in a state of bliss for our morning drive. Welcome back !!!!!!!

Before JB & Sandy were in Dallas, I had to listen to Kidd Kraddock. Can I say that I am now forced to listen to that idiot again? Wild 100 has a bunch of moorons running it. Did ya'll get in trouble for bad mouthing Kidd that one day...talking about him and the lap dance? We wondered if maybe that's why ya'll left. Now dallas has no good morning station. You are missed!

Hey -- Talya, 14:04:43 04/01/02 Mon

Hey. I am happy that you guys are back on in Austin but it is not fair to us here in Dallas that did love to listen to you and your show. That was the fault of the BIGWIGS. I love you guys but I dont think that it is fair that everyone is on the cases of the fans that you guys did have here in Dallas. I mean it hurts bad enough that you are not here but to get ranked on for something that was not our faults is unfair. Well good luck in Austin and if I am ever in Austin I will toon in until till then take care and JB take care of your baby and Sandy if I were single I would date ya!!!!
