With only a few hours of freedom remaining, the golden mare smiled bravely at Euphoria, Zackari, Rogue, and Tiger Eye. Sorrow rose up in a great wave inside her, but she stubbornly repressed it, not wanting to admit to anyone how much her self-inflicted captivity hurt her. Struggling for control, her wavering voice spoke her last remarks.

"It is good to know that one has such wonderful and concerned friends. I look forward to the day when I can return home freely to those I care for."

Hesitating only briefly, Tori looked around once more before swinging her rounded self into action. Slender appendages carried the gilded matriarch away from all she held dear, taking her to make her goodbyes in Paradise Isle and Wildflower Canyon.
