The other's anticipation was not unrewarded, blood flowed freely from the wound between the stallion's shoulders eliciting a sharp squeal from the brute. Shuffling his hindquarters, he swung his hind end in a half-arc to remove himself from his opponent's forward attack leaving him positioned parallel to the steed. Bared ivories struck toward his enemy's throat, his ears pinned against his skull. He sought a purchase that would impede the other's breathing or at least wound him a bit, eye for an eye and all that. After gnashing his teeth in what he hoped was a successful attempt, he threw his bulk toward the sky, forehooves leaving the ground to aim slashing blows at his adversary's neck and shoulders.
