Upon hearing the stallion's praise, the delicately boned Arab fairly flushed with embarrassment.

"'Twas nothing spectacular. I would have done the same for any of SKB's residents. Euphoria, Zackari, and I go back a long way. Well before they were in command and before even I was in command. You can't replace friendships like that and you can't sit idly by while a friend suffers."

Dark memories assailed the normally sunny mare, but were quickly stuffed back deep inside. Injecting more enthusiasm into her words, she returned the praise to the back-up.

"You did quite well yourself. No one will forget how quickly you went to challenge the one who had so unfairly stolen Zackari. Your actions were brave and selfless as well, m'dear. Euphoria couldn't have chosen her back-up more wisely."

Falling silent, she watched through clouded orbs as the stallion strode away, leaving her once again alone.
