Where is the best place to sell custom made pageant dresses? I am tired of trying to sell on ebay, by the time ebay fees, paypal fees, and etc. Also, I guess because I'm considered a new seller, ebay/paypal has put hold on my money on the past 3dresses i have sold and tells me to ship item immediatly. They only release funds IMMEDIATLY when positive feedback is left. So far, everyone has left positive feedback immediatly, but it is such a headache and stress not to have access to the money for a dress you have slaved over and sold. I understand the buyers need protection, however, I am an honest dress designer/seller and would not attempt to put something out there that looked or was sewed awful as it would drastically hurt me as a designer. Not to mention, you really can't make much money right now. I am serious about getting into selling/designing national pageant dresses, but aggravated with all the ebay hooplah. Has anyone else ever had them hold your money, and expect you to ship immediatly? Then you just sit back and pray for smooth shipping, and feedback so you can have access to your hard earned money.

I have the same question. Im,too, am new to the little girls dresses and what I have learned so far is EBAY istoo much like a garage sale. Everyone wants a bargain. You may try Etsy. It is a lot classier group of people. All items are handmade. I use Homestead for my website. You build it and maintain yourself. It is fairly simple and they take care of registering your domain and everything with one click. My site is www.pinkbiscuitsandchocolategravy.com and you get a 30 day free trial to build and work on it. Needless to say I need to add my dress photos but it is not too hard.

I think this might be a new policy. I've sold things in the past for just about the same amount of money as the item I sold last week. This time, however, I had the money put on hold, pending delivery confirmation, positive feedback, or 21 days with no dispute. It is frustrating to me because I was very generous with the buyer to begin with. It took her nearly a week to send the payment. It wasn't a big deal to me, but here it is nearly 2 weeks later, and the money is not available to me. The package was delivered today, but nobody was home to accept it, so now I have to wait until the buyer gets it picked up from the post office. Not only that, but it was almost $40 for shipping, and I had to pay that outside of the transaction money. I understand if ebay is trying to protect the buyers, but it's really quite binding to the occasional seller.

Thats exactly what I'm talking about. The dresses I shipped, I also had to wait the next day for it to be picked up because they were not home. Then, you just hope and pray they will leave you positive feedback. I just think thats a big crock to hold your money. It sure does not make me feel safe as a seller.

SUCK more and more with each new change they make! That is so wrong (holding money) on so many levels, that I can't even begin to imagine trying to do business on ebay any more. Ebay has lost it's thrill for me! It used to be fun, but not anymore! We need to find another outlet for our creative desires altogether! Anybody know how to set up a pageant items auction site?
