I cannot believe some of the things people have said here... Their blatant misinformation is mind boggling to me. Let me post some facts about Jimena and Jimmy that people seem to completely... not know...
But first: Jimmy does NOT and never has had pedophiliac behavior. I have always been very interested in human behavior/the mind/mental disorders so I know quite a bit about pedophilia. I can see where everyone is coming from and I understand their arguments, but his only actions that would lead toward that were his actions from the '70s, and I think we all know he was a bit weird when he was young and that his attraction to baby groupies was the same as every other mans. He went back and forth from them to older women, back to them etc. I will never understand why he is one of the only members who is pin-pointed for that when they all did it but... that would probably be another discussion.
I just wanted to clear that up first before moving on...
Now to clear up this Jimena information. Jimena is not Brazilian! She was born in San Francisco in the early '70s to Argentinean parents. Nobody knows her birthday specifically, but this information was taken from her personal biography that can be found on her charity's website. She traveled back and forth from Buenos Aires and America as a child, which is how she later got into charity work. When she was a teenager she did community work in Ecuador and from there she went through South America doing charity work. Now yes, you may be questioning how a teenager was doing all of this, but I believe she came from fairly wealthy parents, and I knew quite a few teenagers like her when I was in High School, so it's certainly not unheard of.
As most people here have already stated, times are off but that's only because they haven't shared this information with anyone, and the majority of information has been a bunch of guesswork done by fans online. In the official bio I'm reading from, Jimmy and Jimena met in the mid '90s ('95) which at the YOUNGEST would make Jimena 20. Like I said we don't know the specific year she was born, but she WAS born in the early '70s. If we guessed she was born in '75 — which would have been the latest year possible — she would have been 20 in '95. Now, seeing as how this bio says she was born in the early '70s and I have read that she is his eldest daughters age now (early 30s), I'm fairly certain she was around 23 when they met.
Whichever way you want to look at it, I'm 100% positive he did NOT go to Brazil to pick up an under-age girl. That's just ridiculous. He met her through contacting her organization; and he DID have a reason to go down there — he was touring with Robert Plant at the time. So he was not down there "for no reason" as some other posters have suggested.
There has also been speculation about their children... I have heard, and I'm fairly certain, she was pregnant BEFORE she met him. If you look at all of Jimmy's children they all resemble him very much; but his first child with Jimena looks nothing like him. There was also a couple shots of him, Jimena, and their first daughter at one of Jimena's friends party's and in the captain it referred to the child as Jimena's daughter; not Jimmy's. That lead many of us to believe that the information about her being pregnant when she met him was correct. I know he has adopted her as his own now because he was there since she was born, but I don't believe she's his biological child.
That book that was mentioned before sounds like another BS book written on Page with misquotes and loads of misinformation; I wouldn't look at it too much for information.
I think it's cruel to accuse Page of pedophilia when there's absolutely no evidence of it — only twisted speculation. He never continued that behavior into every day life, or throughout the rest of his life (his first wife, I believe, was in her 30s/late 20s when he married her and he was in his early 40s then). I don't agree with the shit these guys did in the '70s but the shit they did on the road is no way to judge someone. People lose themselves in environments like that and do things they normally would never do... That's basically human nature; however sad it is.
I also think it's incredibly unfair to say that because she 'looks' young, she is. She has naturally tan skin, and people with that type of skin tend to age very well. She's also a petite woman but many women are; so does that mean men can't like them unless they get plastic surgery to alter their naturally thin physique? I'm fairly flat chested and have a very young looking face; I would hate to have someone think my boyfriend is a pedophile because of that...
I hope that clears up this misinformation about Jimena. She was a young woman when he met her, and she still is today. I know people who are good friends with him and have met her on more than one occasion and they have nothing but wonderful things to say about both of them; especially Jimena who has been described as having an incredibly loving and charismatic personality (which is probably why Page fell for her). They love each other dearly, and he finally seems to be content with his family life. He has a wonderful relationship with all his children; he does wonderful charity work with his wife and has helped loads of children; and I think that's all people should look at right now.
I can understand people's speculation about the two of them because she is naturally young looking (for Pete's sake, she was only 23 when they met! it's not that hard to believe) but I think a lot of things have been said very unfairly due to ignorance. (That is not meant as an insult.) I know some people may look at this information and for some reason, they may want to go ahead and believe that this was all written as a 'cover up', but honestly, step back and look at where this previous information is coming from. All of this speculation about him going to Brazil to pick up an under-age girl has been based off of NO information about either of them, and one or two pictures of her — which weren't even the best quality. People do not always look their age; that's a fact; and that's all people are basing this story off of — a picture where they thought she looked like a teenager. As I said, 23 is not far from your teens, so is this information really that hard to believe? I don't think so. I don't think he's a pedophile; I don't believe that he went to Brazil, randomly, to pick up an under-age girl; and I do NOT believe that he met her as a teen. I believe what can at least be backed up with facts; he was touring with Robert Plant in '95, and while there, he got in contact with her because of her charity work which she was quite known for. Now, he probably cheated on his wife at the time with Jimena, thus the divorce and immediate relationship with Jimena, but I think that was the worst part of their whole relationship.
P.S. I do not want to make him sound like a saint; that is not my intention at all. I find the majority of what the band mates (Richard Cole included) did during the '70s quite foul — but I have no problem differentiating between their behavior on the road and in real life. Jimmy has never done anything 'horrible' in real life and I do think he's a genuinely nice/good guy. I think he's a bit weak minded in the sense that he falls into temptation too easily, and I think he's been a horrible 'partner' with the way he's used women, obsessed over them, and then thrown them away; but I don't think that makes him evil. I'm only compelled to post here because the misinformation about him here pretty much astounded me, like I said... But I don't blame anyone here for not knowing because for a long time no information was said about them, and Jimena is quite young looking — in photos anyway; I've heard she looks her age in real life, but is still beautiful.
I've also read some misinformation about Lori but I think I've typed enough as is and I don't really care about her. Anybody can look the info up for themselves — she recently stated that they're still friends; he never pressured her into anything even though she was intimidated by him, etc.
I hope no one takes my post as an attack on others. I just wanted to clear up some information. I respect everyone here and I hope they respect me.
