You might want to look for some of those "hidden" library jobs. I know a lot of law firms have "mini libraries" and they do not necessarily hire law librarians to manage them; sometimes a paralegal moves into that job. Also, some large corporate offices maintain libraries too and hire librarians. I worked at a hospital once that had a small library, and I can't remember if it was a credentialed librarian who ran that, or a clerical person who moved into the job, but that is another place to look for a library.

School districts are great - I was a part time teacher, (and I who am not a librarian, wound up with a library for a semester, while they found real librarian). Substitute teaching is a very good way to balance kids and work.

If you are a librarian, adding something like a teaching certificate, paralegal certificate, or perhaps a nursing credential, can open up some library opportunities in other areas. I found that a lot of places like those "dual" credentials.

Just some off the top thoughts - good luck!
