Subject: Thank you for the slow walk through this evening. It seemed so good - Jamie AND John in this horrible place - recognizing a smart, compassionate person just to have a decent conversation, let alone a good meal and game of chess. But John was still too young; he didn’t read people right all the time yet. So this lovely interlude ended in disaster. I’m SO glad this wasn’t the end of their story.
