Subject: I used to believe Diana was channeling the Books from somewhere "else." Several books later, I'm not as pationate about where the story originates. DG is a most amazing writer, unfurling the story in such intimate ways that the reader can see each detail, down to the flies buzzing around a dead body, their size, color, and sound. For me, the dichotomy of the situation in this cabin....the use of deadly force, and the use of passively aggressive force pulls me into a mental argument with myself. I'm really much more of a passivist than anything else, but I wonder if there was another way to deal with the husband. The Rachel-Denny duo was a mighty force, but I'm glad William was not a Quaker.

[> [> [> [> [> But I was saying “Yes! Yes! Yes!” as I read it. She HAS ruined me for most other authors. We’re doing a Bible study based on a historical novel, Esther. I want to drop out because, to me, the historical novel writing is horrible! 🙄. But how do I say this to the group? Should I just shut up and enjoy listening and fellowship at the end? I can’t keep reading. Lol -- Kathy in PA, Thu, April 20 2023, 5:17:25
