Good Morning/Day/Evening/Night to our International Crew,

My grandson, in his 13 year old wisdom, stayed home from school today for a head ache. Not an issue, except he took tylenol, lots of tylenol, all day for his pain. Sooooo, when nurse Mom gets home from work and noticed the bottle of tylenol was WAY too depleted and asked him what was up, well, he spent the last several hours in the ER waiting for his blood levels to decline past the danger zone. This wasn't an attempt to harm himself. It was just teenaged invincible stupidity. I mean, who reads instructions anyway?

Parents and grandson are on the way home. Grandfather and grandmother are now breathing again. Gotta love those teenagers.

"What's P-H-A-L-L-U-S?" Jemmy asked his father.
"Another word for prick," Roger said briefly. "Don't bloody well use it. Listen--can ye hear anything, when ye listen to that stone?" He indicated Jamie's ring lying on the table. Jem's face lighted at sight of it.
"Sure," he said.
"What, from there?" Brianna said, incredulous. Jem looked around the circle of parents and grandparents, surprised at their interest. "Sure," he repeated. "It sings."
"Do ye think wee Mandy can hear it sing, too?" Jamie asked carefully. His heart was beating heavily, afraid to know, either way.
Jemmy picked up the ring and leaned over Mandy's basket, holding it directly over her face. She kicked energetically and made noises-- but whether because of the ring, or mearly at the sight of her brother...
"She can hear it," Jem said, smiling into his sister's face.
"How do you know?" Claire asked, curious. Jem looked up at her, surprised.
" She says so."

[> So very glad you noticed the Tylenol bottle was low and that Grandson is OK. When I think of some of the things I got away with.....let's just say I'm glad I'm still here to read Diana's books! -- Janet, Thu, April 20 2023, 11:02:44

[> [> It wasn't me that noticed the tylenol bottle, it was my daughter. She's a nurse as well, so she knew it was more serious than "drink a lot of water to flush it out of your system." I understand very well, like you, how amazing it is that I'm alive, considering...... -- Betsy BFS, Thu, April 20 2023, 20:09:19

[> Teenagers are a challenge. Their bodies grow faster than their brains. I like the psychic connection between Jim and Mandy. I wonder how that will affect them as they grow older. -- kgp, Thu, April 20 2023, 16:07:46

[> [> When Bree was searching for Jem, after Rob Cameron abducted him and locked him in the tunnel, she used Mandy's connection with Jem to find him. Jem and Mandy are definitely attuned to each other. -- Betsy BFS, Thu, April 20 2023, 20:00:26
