Although we never really know Letitia, I always had the impression that she never had a choice in the matter. Doesn't Dougal say somewhere that he told Colum that Letitia was "sweet as a ripe peach," but was actually not good to bed? I would imagine she might not be too enthusiastic about her husband sending his brother to play stud with her as the "broodmare." Then there was the speculation/gossip that Hamish could be Jamie's son, as most of the clan knew or suspected that Colum might not be able to sire a child. -- Ladies of Lallybroch Social Board
