I mean that the situation in Israel has led to a horrifying level of violence and bloodshed the world over. As I say, I believe bin Laden when he claims that he is motivated by what is happening there. I don't suggest that he is rational in his views or actions, but I do think that this political mess is the catalyst for most of the terrorism in the world today.

There is no doubting it, Fisk is anti-Sharon to the core. He is not, however, anti-Israel. That's ridiculous.

I find it horrifying. I find it horrifying that Christians would pour so much money into financing a situation that is leading to so much bloodshed in the name of converting the Jews. That disgusts me. I also see where Israel is going to take its support where it can get it, but it's fair to criticise this, too--after all, America can be criticised for using the Muslim fundamentalist cause in order to further its political aims during the Cold War, too.
I am going to comment more later because I have to run to a meeting, but I'd like to read the article you allude to. I find this entire issue fascinating as much as I do depressing.
