I know what you mean, Rev. Joe. TV can suck you in, even when you don't really want to watch it. Sometimes I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing and subconciously start watching something that my parents have on TV. I have to catch myself all the time to make sure I'm not staring at the screen. When I find myself doing this, I have to get up off the sofa and move somewhere else; that is, into another room or outside. Once I walk into the TV room (what should be called the 'living' room but is more like the 'sleeping-with-your-eyes-open' room), I have to be conscious of what's being viewed on the screen so that I won't get sucked in without knowing it. I can't wait to get my own house and not own a TV. I'm making plans about how awesome it would be all the time!
