I had a friend that I worked with who refused to even look at a TV screen. His anti-TV attitude came more from a conspiricy theory/subliminal message point of view. We used to have weekly in-service meetings that often featured some sort of instructional video, and he would sit next to the TV, facing us, so he would not even glimpse the screen out of the corner of his eye. It was always amazing to watch him enter other people's homes and position himself so that the TV screen was always behind him; he did it so gracefully it was almost like a ballet, and often the other people (who did not know about his aversion) would have no idea that he was doing it, so skillful was his maneuvering. He lives in the jungle of Bolivia now - not much TV happening out there (yet, anyway).
