Cool I'm glad you liked my little twist to explain why there aren't transporters in Star Wars. We all know the real reason, but I thought it would be cool to come up with a reason why they don't use them. The question came up during a rpg session and I had to come up with something on the spot. Later I expanded on the idea and with the help of some fellow trekies. We concluded that the midi-chlorians exsist as noncorporeal lifeforms and exsist as complex patterns of energy, inside living cells and use the Force to speak to the indvidual they connected with. I also concluded that sometimes this connection can be severed as seen in the Timithoy Zhan novel "Heir to the Empire". We also know that Obi-Wan could reapear as a Force Spirit and speak to Luke. This is how I came to that conclusion, which hasn't been proven wrong yet. Anyway if we assume all this then we also know that sometimes transporters can have adverse effects on symbiotic lifeforms like Trill, see [TNG] "The Host". Somehow this all hanges later on [DS9] with Dax. But anyway if they were noncorporeal than they would be unaffected by the Borg nanoprobes. But if a Jedi were to be infected he could use a Force healing technique called Heal desease to purge the foreign nanoprobes from his body. But YES I do agree that Borg nanoprobes could infect anybody. But a fully trained Jedi Knight could keep himself from being assimilated by the Borg, although anybody else is Borg fodder! If you want to use my Transprter idea I wouldn't care, and it could be a terrible weapon against the Jedi. How that works is when a Force User is transported the midichlorians are NOT, and they take one to six hours to find and reconnect with their host.
