Dante allowed his eyes to finally slide closed. He knew he was safe with Kalea, and the journay had made him tired. In his lap the wolf cub yawned and looked to Kalea, ::He likes you, you know. He trusts you.:: She smiled within the link. ::It is good. He has had only Michael and Gabriel for so long.::
From the forest floor came the soft tone patten of Rio. ::Dante has ever been a good judge of character. Khanada? Would you like to help me scout ahead?::
The young white wolf jumped from the house and landed messily in the dirt of the forest floor. ::Yeah Rio, Yeah!! I wanna help.::
The older wiser black wolf gently mouthed the youngers neck. ::Calmly dear Nada. Come along.::
Nashota, watching from a distance shook her head slowly. ::How strange to meet creatures so very unlike ourselves only to find that they are... Just as we are.::
She too turned her gaze to the mountains, now just in front of them. ::I don't know about the other Jellicles 'Lea. To bring them across would mean that you and I will have to cross these feirce mountains not once but... Three times. Perhaps, after we see what problems lay in wait on the other side we can better make that call.::
She looked to her sister and was suddenly filled with kittenish glee. ::Oh but I am enjoying this adventure Kalea! Very much so!!::
Moving along silently behind Wes came Gabriel. His foot fall left no mark as his passing left nature just as it had been moments before he had tread apon it. His yellow eyes remained locked on the extremely strange creature that he followed through the twilight.
Suddenly, in a move that was not like Gabriel, he spoke to the creature. "We are not enemies you and I. I am merely trying to find a safe place where my brothers might grow to be men."
He thought of the boy Jeff and his companions and a rare smile crossed his face. "Thank you for your help Wes. I have no doubt that, without you, my tribe might very well be lost."
Silence fell for anouther moment and then, almost shyly, "What sort of creature ARE you Wes? I have... Well I have never before seen or heard of your kind."
