Clara- just making sure …well anywayz …I’m finna go to sleep …I got work in the morning …you do too so take ya azz to sleep
At Work
Clara- this is Kaylonie …she’s gonna be the new writer
Jerome- that was fast …I’m glad you found a new writer …I thought it’d take you longer …but you never fail to amaze me
Clara- well thanks
Jerome- well you can get to work now
Clara- (smiles) see you later
They walk to the conference room where Clara’s team is working and get to work.
Around 12 (time for lunch) they were finished writing the first 6 episodes and Kaylonie had something to show Clara.
Kaylonie- look C …I wrote this after I helped that gurl Sarah
Clara- what is it?
Kaylonie- sumthin I came up with …do you wanna see it?
Clara- well what is it Kay? (Looking over other work) is it a film, a sitcom or what?
Kaylonie- gurl I’on know (hands it to Clara)
Clara- (takes tha papers from Kay and look over them)
It was about a gurl moving from California to college in New York to escape her past and crazy stepfather.
Clara- Kay this is good …when did you write this?
Kaylonie- I told you after I helped Sarah
Clara- you wrote this that fast? Gurl you are good
Kaylonie- I told you that already
Clara- well I’m sorry for thinking you were just playing
Kaylonie- what? You thought you was tha only one with talent in tha family?
Clara- yeah Kay …you and Nelly be bullshitting …what do you want me to say? (Laughs) this is good …sorry I doubted yo azz …now chill
Kaylonie- baby sis you really need help
Chelle- (comes in) ay C …Jerome wants to see you in his office …for an on tha desk meeting
Kaylonie laughs.
Clara- Chelle shut up
Chelle- gurl don’t chu be telling me to shut up …Oops …I forgot wha I said …tha same thing Ashleigh got her azz thrown across the conference room for
Clara- (laughs) whatever …you finna go to lunch now?
Chelle- yeah
Clara- what did Jerome say he wanted?
Chelle- gurl he didn’t say …but Kay you may wanna come to lunch with me just incase
Clara- unt un …how you gon take my sister
Chelle- gurl you finna go get a raise with Jerome (grabs Kaylonie) come on gurl
They leave.
In Jerome’s office
Clara- yes?
Jerome- I just wanted to see if you had any plans for lunch
Clara- well I was gonna go with my sister but she left with Chelle
Jerome- so does that mean you’re open for an invitation?
Clara- well I guess so
Jerome- okay …let me grab my jacket
Clara- (fake smile) okay (she walks out and waits outside of his office)
30 seconds later he comes out
Jerome- you ready?
Clara- yeah
They walk off to Jerome’s car, he opens the door for her and she flashes another fake half azz smile and gets in. They take off in silence and Jerome made the first attempt to break it.
Jerome- so your whole family can write huh?
Clara- I don’t know …just found out that Kay could write yesterday
Jerome- oh …so do I still get my dinner?
Clara- sure …(ready to get it over with and see what he wanted) how about tonight
Jerome- (surprised about the date) tonight sounds good …what time is good for you?
Clara- anytime …after 8 is good …that’s when I usually eat dinner
Jerome- okay …I’ll be there at 8 to get you
They chit chatted a little more, mostly about work and their cars, then they went to Tasty Treats, a seafood restaurant that Jerome had chosen to eat lunch at. Jerome got out and opened Clara’s car door then they went inside and sat down to order.
Jerome- (looking through his menu) so what are you having?
Clara looked through her menu but she wasn’t reading it, she was thinking about how Jerome brought her to lunch without asking her where she wanted to go first, Olamide never asked her where she wanted to go, but he knew what she wanted, and she missed that. She missed not having to tell the other person what she wanted because he already knew; she didn’t want to start over new with someone. Because she already had someone that knew her inside out, and she couldn’t stand the thought of getting to love some one so much again and then having them leave her.
Jerome interrupted her thoughts.
Jerome- Clara!
Clara- (looks up) yes?
Jerome- you were kinda lost there for a minute
Clara- (tapping on her menu) yeah I know …I’m sorry
Jerome- it’s okay …so what are you having
She was tempted to tell him she wasn’t big on sea food but decided not to, she didn’t want to start telling him her likes and dislikes like they were getting somewhere
Clara- I was just gonna have the shrimp platter
Jerome- is that all? …I’m paying
Clara- (tilts her head to the side smiling) well in that case (Jerome starts laughing) no I’m just playing, that will be all
Jerome- okay
The waiter came and Jerome ordered the shrimp platter and a medium Sprite for Clara and a lobster and a glass of wine for himself.
Jerome- so what’s on your mind?
Clara- (caught off guard, she was still in her own thoughts) nothing …just work …you know …
Jerome- (thought about asking her about her broken relationship but decided to save the good stuff for dinner) yeah work is getting crazy
Clara- this world is getting crazy
The waiter brought their food, and they chit chatted some more while Clara picked over her food and was almost reduced to tears in her thoughts.
Jerome- (heard the pain in her voice) are you okay?
Clara- yeah …I just …have a lot on my mind (made up a lie) I haven’t talked to my father in a while …we were really close when I was growing up …and when I left for college and work …I left on bad terms
Jerome- well is something wrong with him?
Clara- yeah …but I’d rather not talk about it
Jerome- okay (he decided to save that for tonight also)
U got it Bad
When Olamide woke up the next morning he checked his answering machine then his calendar and saw he didn’t have to go to the studio today. He was about to call Clara and tell her he had a free day but just before he dialed the last number he remembered that it was over. This being without her thing was really getting to him. He started to wonder why he broke it off anywayz. She was so nice, and sweet, the kind of gurl he always wanted and he broke her heart. His phone broke his train of thought. It was John.
Olamide- man what do you want?
John- what you doin today?
Olamide- nuthin …why?
John- ohh …nuthin …I was gon chill with Kay today but she got work and all …I ain’t tryin to get in the way or anything
Olamide- yeah …you have to worry about stuff like that now …there was a time when all we did was chill and call each other
John- yeah …those were the good old days back in High school
Olamide- yeah I wish it could all be that simple again
John- well not really …that’s the point in loving somebody …growing with them and accepting the flaws that comes with it …that’s what comes with the territory …if Kay would have never ran off …whatever changes she made while she was here I’d been right through them with her …but you …you’re afraid of change and some other stuff …cuz I still can’t figure out why you left Clara
Olamide- you know it’s complicated …it doesn’t matter now …it’s in the pass it’s time to move on
John- ay you’re the one that doesn’t want to move on …still worrying about high school and stuff
Olamide- well a lot of stuff starts comin and it will probably mess up anywayz
John- you’re dumb …when Imajin didn’t work out did Clara say Oops change Lamz gotta run
Olamide- (laughs) man whatever
John- now you chillin with that chicken head that’s done been around the block a couple times
Olamide- shut up …cuz I don’t know how I hooked up with her
John- well shit …all we got is time …tell me where this all went wrong
Olamide- you serious?
John- yeah …maybe I can help you …and not make one of the same mistakes you made
Olamide- aiight then …I’ll start from when Imajin started falling apart
John- oh you mean right when it got started?
Olamide- (laughs) man shut up and listen

The Past
Kaylonie- girl what chu sitting in ur room looking all crazy for?
Clara- it’s Olamide …he all calling me acting crazy yelling at me on the phone …I was trying to ask him what was wrong but he was yelling with John and Jamal in the background
Kaylonie- well whatever …don’t be trippin over no nigga
Clara- whatever Ayesha …he told me he was on his way (gets up) imma wait for him down stairs (runs down stairs)
Nelly- C were you finna go?
Clara- I’m waiting on Olamide …something’s wrong with him
Nelly- shit …I could have told you that
Just then Chelle walked from the kitchen
Clara- Chelle what chu doin here?
Chelle- (hesitates) I was in the kitchen getting sumthin to eat …I was finna get ready to come up there and see u
Somebody knocked at the door and Kaylonie answered it
Kaylonie- uuuwww u got some sisplaining to do (laughs)
Clara- Olamide what’s wrong with you?
Olamide- you coming or not?
Nelly- hold up dirty …don’t be talking to my sister like that
Olamide looks at Nelly like “Nigga Please” and walks out.
Nelly- (jumps up) WTF …unt un Nigga
Clara- Nell chill …I’m bout to go see what’s his problem
Nelly- no imma tell you what his problem bout to be cuz I’m bout to kick that lil nigga’s azz
Clara- just chill out …I’ll be right back yall (runs and gets in Olamide’s car and they take off) now what’s wrong with you?
Olamide- me Jamal, Jiz and Lib just got in a fight
Clara- about what?
Olamide- ain’t no more Imajin, Jamal and Lib some switch outs
Clara- WHAT!! What happened?
Olamide- well Jive …man you know tha story …they wanted to know was it gonna be them or DP so no doubt you know imma always be down with Double Phatt cuz that’s tha fam right there …but Jamal and Talib’s azzes are ready to switch out
Clara- what they wanna stay with Jive?
Olamide- yeah (parks at his house and they get out) but me and John are still down with DP right
Clara- (walking in his house) right …so when did yall start fighting
Olamide- well we were all trying to come to a mutual agreement right (sitting down) so we in there …then Jamal all callin us stupid …Talib’s faggot azz left
Clara- why he left?
Olamide- cuz John mad him cry
Clara busts out laughing.
Olamide looks at her like she’s crazy cuz he was still mad and she was looking all concerned before.
Olamide- what chu laughing for? (Starts to laugh himself)
Clara- (laughing) ahhh I knew Talib was a punk …what did John say?
Olamide- sumthin like he just switchin out for the money and he need to take his skinny Ethiopian azz back to Afghanistan or where ever the hell he from then Talib was looking all sad and told John to sit his bright azz down then John ran up in his face, he started crying and ran out talking bout he ain’t have to take that
Clara- (still laughing) man yall a trip …so what yall gon do now?
Olamide- me and John were talking about forming our own group
Clara- that sounds nice
Olamide- (looks at Clara)
Clara- (looking at him like he’s crazy) y you looking at me like that?
Olamide- you cool with this?
Clara- what chu mean?
Olamide- you don’t care that Imajin broke up, and we supposed to be getting married after u turn 19?
Clara- naw …why should I be?
Olamide- money duh
Clara- whatever Olamide …what I need your money for? You’ll be working by next year when I turn 19 anywayz …ain’t no biggie
Olamide- so you don’t think I’m a failure
Clara- Olamide …I think …you are the best thing that has ever happened to me …just because this didn’t work out doesn’t have anything to do with the way I feel about you …I never went out with you because you were in Imajin …just because I liked you, and now I love you, and Imajin has nothing to do with that (kisses him)
Olamide- do you sit around and read romance novels or the sweetest things to say books all day?
Clara- (laughs) nope …I sit around and think about you all day …now I can have you all to myself again
Olamide- selfish, that’s a shame
Clara- no …you just got too many groupies
Olamide- yeah …well instead of trying to sleep with us they should have bought the CD
Clara- I bought 10 copies!
Olamide- (laughs) I know
Clara- you know I got that internship at Romeo Films right
Olamide- for real? That’s good
Clara- imma be able to get a good job there when I finish college …or maybe sooner
Olamide- well at least one of us is having a good day
Clara- awww Olamide …don’t be sad …be happy …you and John’s group will be even better than Imajin
Olamide- I don’t know that
Clara- well I do
Olamide- I wish I had as much faith in myself as you do
Clara just smiles
John- I still don’t see the part were it all started going wrong
Olamide- that is when it all started going wrong
John- when she told you she got your back no matter what, still wanted to marry you and had a job, tell me tha bad part
Olamide- that’s when JizLamz started, and she started goin to work more, I was having free time, so we were in tha studio a lot more and people started whispering stuff in my ear
John- naw I think you started sniffing stuff up your nose
Olamide- shut up
John- what the hell did you gain from breaking up with her?
