"Lads"? Sorry, Higgins, I'm no Doberman (I'll try to keep my references to ones you'll get from now on - apologies). AA and the Big Book lead people to realize how they are useless to control their lives and must recognize some "supreme being" that they then turn themselves over to. It is what Narconon is to Scientology; a hook to gather more irrational believers. Flaunt your studying of philosophy all you need, Slappy, it's not like you're the only one who went to emode.com and took an IQ test.

AA, Bill W., and Dr. Bob have a 5% success rate. They don't even publish their results! If I helped as many people as they claim to, I'd have a regular ad in the London Times (there we go). I got the above information from Penn and Teller's show "Bullshit" where they investigated the organization and found out that it basically violates American church and State regulations and hooks people into a religious mindset when they are at a low point in their lives. Much like John Edward and those other assfucks who "talk to the dead" when their loved ones are grieving, stealing their money.

Please, enlighten me more. Oh, and don't be knocking The Cat in the Hat. It's deeper than you are. You, to paraphrase a favourite website of mine, "are a philosophical wading pool, full of children's laughter and sparkling sunshine and bright pictures of pretty fish and piss-warmed water."
