Well i got a digital camera for x-mas so expect to see alot of pics and videos LOL.

These videos are actually really old. They are from about 2 and a half years ago, before Bru got a sore back. This jumping is what caused the uneveness in his SI joint. I wanted your opinions on if there would be any other lasting effects from the way Bru was jumping in these videos.

when you said Dr. Deb lacks people skills. I emailed her today asking for help with how to rehabilitate Bru.
we have finally come to conclusion that Bru has loose stifles.

anyways.. i emailed her and she proceeded to be EXTREMELY rude to me. First off in the subject like I had typed : What can I do to help my horse. Her reply was : Learn to ride better and stay away from dressage as you concieve of it.

The she asked me some questions and proceeded to reem me out for emailing her privately instead of going on the BB which I didn't even know about.

She then said: The trouble you are in with this horse you got into yourself, and I am happy enough to counsel you to benefit the poor animal.

Sheesh! You would think when someone is coming to her for help she could be a little more accomidating. I understand she is busy, but she could at least be polite about it LOL!

Oh well.. if I get an answer hopefully it is helpful as the expereince of talking with her has not been a pleasant one.

Mercedes, a person on the DraftSportHorse yahoo group I'm apart of have a couple percherons for sale. Some are from old style lines. Just though I'd let you know.If your interested or anyone else is email the owner.

heres the post:

"Stoney's Little Joe is a 1996 black 17hh registered
Percheron stallion. He has been used mainly for
pasture breeding but has also been bred in-hand. Will
sell as a gelding or as a stallion. We hope to start
him in harness soon; he would match up well with our
mare (also for sale), Captain's Raye. He has a very
sweet, quiet disposition and is very easy to handle,
even around mares. Can be pastured next to mares or
stallions and causes no problems. Very easy going,
willing horse. Leads, ties, loads, etc. Bloodlines
of Koncarhope, Chief Max, Don Degas, and Topper's
Highland Prince. $1,500. Photos available via email
of "Little Joe" and of his offspring.

Captain's Raye, 1990 black ~16.1-16.2hh reg'd
Percheron mare. Daughter of Captain Kocarhope
(Bowslope Koncarhope, by Koncarhope). Very quiet,
gentle disposition. Has been used mainly as a
broodmare, but I have gotten on her and ridden her
bareback with just a halter and lead (the first time
she's ever had anyone on her - says a lot about her
disposition, doesn't it?). She would match up
wonderfully with our stallion who is also for sale
(can be gelded), Stoney's Little Joe. In foal for
2003 to Stoney's Little Joe. Leads, ties, loads,
etc. Needs work with handling her feet but is not
mean about it, just has not had them handled a lot.
$2,000 firm.

Whistling Winds Gwendolynn, 1993 black 15.2hh
registered Percheron mare. Easy to handle, leads,
ties, loads, etc. Does need work on handling her
feet. Has been a broodmare her whole life; settles
easily and produces wonderful foals. Sire is Major's
Bell. Sire's sire is Hope Commander's Bill
(Commander's Bob x Hope Major's Princess). Sire's dam
is Margo Esquire La Rod (La Rod Degas x Margie
Michelle).
Dam is Meadowland Pearl. Dam's sire is Meadowland
Toughy (Meadowland Dick x Frances Laet). Dam's dam is
Meadowland Jewell's Pride (Meadowland Dick x
Meadowland Colley).
In foal to Stoney's Little Joe for 2003. I also have
her 2002 colt (by the same stallion) for sale. Buy
all three and make a team out of her offspring.
$2,000 as a 2-in-1; $3,000 for a 3-in-1 or $1,500 for
her 2002 colt.

Little Joe of Sunny Side, 2002 black reg'd Percheron
colt. Should mature approximately 15.2hh. Has been
handled since birth. Loads into a trailer, good about
having his feet handled, etc. Beautiful colt with
wonderful conformation and a quiet disposition like
his sire's. Dam is Whistling Winds Gwendolynn. Sire
is Stoney's Little Joe (also for sale). $1500.

This is Check That Gab, aka Mascouche. A yearling in these pictures she stood almost 14.3hh. She's out of an appendix mare and by a stallion by Princple Investment out of a Hotrodders Jet Set mare. She will probably be used in english, but might be able to go well western.

What do you think of her? She's obviously in a butt high growth spurt in these pics, but other than that?

Regarding this picture, the Piaffe and parallel legs...
In Classical dressage the diagonal pairs of legs should be parallel in all paces up until the higher collection of Piaffe. The reason piaffe is different is because the horses forehand is beginning to actually come off the ground. It is physically impossible for the hind legs to raise so high as to be parallel in this movement.

Nevertheless the horse in question,ie. the one in the pictures definitely does not show full engagement of the hindquarters, one would presume this was a result of the rider's seat being out of the saddle, and blocking the horse with the reins - too much with the hand.

As for saddleseat, I sadly have no knowledge in that area so I cannot comment.

OK I saw my first Andalusion in person the other night.

I had taken a four year old TB I just started riding over to an indoor arena set up with dressage ring and all at night. The show is the 23rd. He was PERFECT... BTW!!

About an hour after I was there, a lady showed up with an Andalusion gelding... also four years old. I mistook him for a Paso!! Anyways he was spooky to say the least. She later came out riding him (she is the breeder and trainer) and he was just a mess!! He was a SOWING machine up front and was not stepping up from behind in the least. He was WIRED!! Bucking, spooking, bolting... you get the pciture!SHe was riding him in a PELHAM with curb and all. I took a double take on it because I thought it was a double bridle at first! She was riding him in an upper level frame up front with a hollow back. I had to leave... I just couldn't watch anymore. Two other people showed up and they were riding their Arabs... in PELHAMS. This is NOT a legal bit I am sure! Right??? Has this become exceptable while I was sleeping or something?

I have read and heard that short, upright pasterns are undesireable in a riding horse because they contribute toward a choppy, jarring gait and unsoundness issues. Does anyone have a horse with this fault? Are their gaits rougher? Do they have lameness in their older years? I see some breeds really have this fault quite often so I was wondering if the problems they have are true or more of an "old wives tale".

My Iroko x Amethyst(Trak) baby is growing up fast. I think I posted him as a baby. Pleas critique him for his intended dicipline jumper. Is he built like a jumper..could he do the hunters? What are his strengths and weaknesses specific to this dicipline. Or should he be a dressage horse?

I'd like to know weaknesses..even minor ones, so I can make the appropriate breeding decisions his dam mare in future years. I think he's perfect...but there is no such thing. I'm obviously biased and can't look at him objectively.
