I understand what you’re saying — falls definitely happen in Irish dance, and not every one turns out to be serious. But how a teacher responds in that moment really matters.

Even if most slips end up being just bumps or twists, the safe and professional approach is to check on the dancer right away and take their pain seriously. You can’t always tell from the outside how bad an injury is, and a few extra minutes of care can make all the difference.

If a child is still in pain or upset after some time, it’s always best to contact the parent rather than assume they’ll be fine. That’s not overreacting — it’s just being responsible and showing the dancer (and their family) that their safety comes first.

Class time is important, but nothing matters more than a dancer’s well-being.
