 Even with my very limited knowledge of ortho, this doesn't sound right at all! Maybe Dr Rick can provide some illumination on this seeming extravagant overcharge and treatment length.

My ortho put on clear on the top teeth and uses opalescent (basically clear) ties at each adjustment. There was no extra charge for this. I understand that some orthos may have an extra charge for clear braces since they cost more.
