Date Posted: 00:05:57 02/01/03 Sat The stuff ERG has got and what it acquired off Motorola--ie Venus is extremely valuable and ERG/Proton are the ones that control this technology--not other person can use it without their say so---ERG have bought the licence from Motorola for Venus--they sublicensed it to ASK--otherwise ASK wouldn't be able to make the cards even to give them 10.000 odd for Go Toronto--ERG get them on the cheap for this. Anyway Octopus is spreading its tentacles ERG itself cannot afford the bond for the Netherlands 180 million dollars--so they have had to say no to a direct bid--the people that run Octopus are Creative Star--ERG receives maintence fee's from Hong Kong--the technology their was MASS--but Proton added to it--for you need all the groovey stuff--to buy stuff at the shops with as well as hop on the train--and focourse youve got the HONG KONG ID Card and a number of Australian company's involved with that--including value added resellers for ERG--the idea is to have more than just a common ID card--you can have one to do anything your like with--obviously it will have to work in with the transit system. ERG with Interpay have sucessfully won the whole of Netherlands for they are adopting a common platform which is ERG PROTON Interpay--so you get Proioton coming into it whatever you do---Creative Star when they go for the Netherlans it's got to be compatioble with the banks etc that Proton has got and once again to buy stuff at the shops. Meanwhile Visa have said they see the greatest growth for smartcards contactless in the fast food area--you go into Mcdonalds whatever and order a burger even in your car just drive through as you do now--but you wave your card as you do it. That all ties in with CAT actually for a couple of months back they demonstrated CAT idea on SChlumbergewr terminals in New York--whuich is recordedf at Stockhouse and on this scratcpad--with the times and the date and all that sort of stuff. So anyway what will happen here is under the laws oif non disclosure and bus confidentiality--ERG have lost the Netherlands--but you see through Proton that ERG acquired theyve really got it--even though Creative Star will be the ones--doesnt matter who wins even if the other EDS one wins they still need to use PRoton Interpay anyway--and ofcourse you have to pay fees to use some elses stuff. Write the above out later to make it look as if you know what your tallking about. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
