Since it’s the holiday season and the pageant season is quiet, here is a fun question for Miss California enthusiasts. If you were to participate and assist in another state or local program (outside of CA), where would you go and why? My choice would be Rhode Island, which is an open program and a non-sash state, with little organizational politics. I think it would be fun to organize a smaller program, which usually has around 10-12 contestants and then help prepare the titleholder for Miss America.

[> Subject: I'd pick the Virgin Island or Puerto Rico. I think they both have a lot of unrealized potential in this program, so I'd love to volunteer to grow their programs and prep their winners for Miss America. Plus, I bet they put on really fun pageants reflecting their individual Caribbean/American cultures.

It was great to read this here, and to let all of you know that we are small but dedicated board, and we are positive supporters of our contestants, our current titleholder Jessica Marfeo who ROCKS, and our forever Miss Rhode Islands of whom we are most proud. We welcome youthful energy! Thanks for the post sorry I just caught it now, and I have been enjoying the positive energy of your class of 2013 Misses and their anti-bullying campagin.
