To all of those who state that you need "experience" or other wins to secure the Miss Hollywood crown: if a girl has zip experience and has the spark and if the judges all like her on that day--she will be rewarded. I think this only applies at the local level. At the state level you have a whole different set of rules. The state winner has been observed and selected beforehand. There is no way that the organization will pick someone who is not tested.
This is why pageants are such a crapshoot for those who work hard and fullfill all of the requirements. This is why there are so many hard feelings...pageants are not logic based.
One exception to this state example: Katie Tang's placement this year was due to her ultra strong talent and her presence. Her eyes just twinkle and she has an undefinable quality that makes you love her. But let's face it--she was not in good shape (in spite of my loving her figure, she was thick and too big on top). I honestly feel that she would have had the crown had it not been for her curves. It's typical "second place" logic.
