| Subject: This year our teen had 5 weeks between MCOT and MAOT, in that time she had cheer camp to attend and summer homework to complete, not a whole lot of time for much prep. Next year MAOT is 2 weeks sooner. California teens need to come to MCOT ready for the national pageant, there is no time to "prep" anything. And for the record, in the 9 years of MAOT, California has had a first runner up, a fourth runner up, two girls in the top 10 and another in the top 12. We haven't had a winner yet but we haven't done too bad either. | |

| [> [> [> Subject: The short amount of time between our teen pageant and the national pageant was a concern for me, however, Florida's pageant is held in July and so is South Carolina's. Both states have had the most recent winners and both pageants are after ours.. I agree with you, the teen contestants need to arrive in Fresno ready to win in Orlando. In my opinion, this dynamic makes it even more crucial for the local pageants to have a clear direction about what to look for at the local level so they can direct their judges accordingly and then, once they have their winner to prepare her adequately for Orlando - not just Fresno. | |

| [> [> [> [> [> Subject: The only thing MAOT seems to be clear about is the color evening gown the winner wears. All 9 winners have worn white or pink. So if MCOT wants to win MAOT, she needs to wear a white or pink gown. lol... | |
