Not at all starved but food was always a good excuse to eat, the gelding's attention was completely absorbed in the tasty contents of his feed bucket, absorbed so much as to initially miss the new arrivals. Just one last little grain of goodness, just the last one stuck in the very bottom.... there! Ah, a clean bucket! Lifting his velvet muzzle clear of the tub, he shook his head with a snort, turning once more to the door of his new home. New voices! New faces!
Head emerging over his door, he looked quietly and politely on, waiting his turn, as the two-legged creatures paid a visit to his neighbor, ears flicking attentively to catch every bit of the conversation he did not understand.
