It doesn't work like that though does it? Players, agents and clubs are all engaged in a process of price setting in an opaque market. That means no one actually knows what the "correct" price is. Its set via a process of offers and counters between club and player, taking into account what others are willing to pay. For Tete this is the last big chance to cash in. - I don’t know why people keep assuming we’ve offered him anything. As below, players can easily say when approached, sorry not discussing, I’m waiting to see what the market can offer me, tbey know they hold all the aces. Maybe if you went huge, 4 yrs, 100k a week he may think that’s worth it; but he’s not worth anywhere near that so the club shouldn’t ever offer him that.
