Subject: It's not about the numbers relative to other US sports, but to viewership elsewhere. Currently as many Americans are watching the Prem as Brits. Americans typically have more disposable income to spend on merchandise and trips to the fancy stadium (lower taxes, higher salaries, fewer vacation days). It's a very lucrative market and having American players important if you're not a winning club. I've seen interest in Fulham (sometimes very dedicated) grow significantly over there over the years
In reply to: Henry1879 's message, "Good age, but doubts from my limited knowledge. He’s lightweight and not particularly quick, the prem is a tough league without physical assets. Clearly able to sniff a goal, but so does sess, but you need a lot more than that, chances are few and far between at the top level. Don’t buy this US thing either, he won’t even start when all fit, football will always be way down sports lists in US, even with being World Cup hosts, he’s just a Raul replacement, but a much less rounded player." on Thursday, March 19, 08:37:50pm
