That's understandable and I appreciate how crazy it sounds. But it's not always that black & white, notably having won a Premier League title - Claudio Ranieri achieved the same accolade but was woeful for us. Slot had hundreds of millions in world class players at Liverpool and didn't come close to challenging in his 2nd season. Some of the LFC fans are citing PTSD (Post Traumatic Slot Disorder) and are feeling sorry for us once the speculation broke. -- SW6.doc

Klopps team or not you still have to do it. Work with a Dutch guy and he said he was great at AZ and won the league with Feyenoord , the first time they've done for it for a few years.Also had a solid record in Europe too .Salah was past his best, he's 34. I also think that wee have to realistically evaluate what that title achievement has done for his profile. The fact that he's being linked to us and seen as a realistic appointment suggests that the title win hasn't convinced the pundits or market that he's particularly respected as a coach. - In English football it's always down to the 'Manager'. When Leicester City won PL, Ranieri had Steve Walsh and Craig Shakespear in his coaching staff. He also had key players in Kante, Vardy and Mahrez. I think Liverpool pulled the trigger on Slot rather early. This season was always going to be one of transition with so many new players, Salah and Van Dyke ageing, and Isak and Ekitike injured. Liverpool, like other top clubs are under enormous pressure to remain in the top places in the PL.   - Absolutely correct. However you spin this season, the season before was remarkable. He took a team that finished 3rd, 9 points off the title, added one single player as 3rd striker (Chiesa), and led that team to winning the league by 10 points. That, in and of itself, means he's ideal for us. Take Marco's team, push it up 3 places. Yes please! This season was a disaster waiting to happen. - I watched a fair bit of Feyenoord under Slot and they were excellent. Played some brilliant football and it wasn't like their squad was anything amazing.
