Slot had hundreds of millions in world class players at Liverpool and didn't come close to challenging in his 2nd season. In English football it's always down to the 'Manager'. When Leicester City won PL, Ranieri had Steve Walsh and Craig Shakespear in his coaching staff. He also had key players in Kante, Vardy and Mahrez. I think Liverpool pulled the trigger on Slot rather early. This season was always going to be one of transition with so many new players, Salah and Van Dyke ageing, and Isak and Ekitike injured. - Absolutely correct. However you spin this season, the season before was remarkable. He took a team that finished 3rd, 9 points off the title, added one single player as 3rd striker (Chiesa), and led that team to winning the league by 10 points. That, in and of itself, means he's ideal for us. Take Marco's team, push it up 3 places. Yes please! This season was a disaster waiting to happen. I watched a fair bit of Feyenoord under Slot and they were excellent. Played some brilliant football and it wasn't like their squad was anything amazing.
