Marz sipped his wine, the liquor working to relax him. Normally, he didn't indulge in alcohol because it affected him quickly, but right now he wanted something to help take his mind off relationships. Trying to have a problem free relationship was virtually impossible, so why the hell was he striving so hard for something unattainable?

By the time he drained his glass, he decided that love came with too many damned restrictions. When he ran away from Sistino he vowed that no one would ever have power over him again. That vow went right out the window after he fell in love with Tristan, and that bothered him. He really hated having to constantly worry about the possibility of his actions pissing his lover off. Lately, he felt stifled and it was all because of raking love. A part of him wanted to coddle and console Tristan at all times while another part of him wanted to be wild and free again like he once was. Maybe I'm just too young to be deeply involved with another person.

Marz looked up at Jeremy when he approached to refill his glass. "The food's almost ready," the youth told him. Obsidian eyes watched the otherworldly youth rush back to the campfire before shifting to Tristan who slowly walked toward him. He was quite surprised that his lover decided to join him and even more surprised to see him disrobe in public. The blush that rose to Tristan's face made him grin. Part of the dragon's appeal was his shyness and naivety. It made Marz want to pull him into his arms and shelter him from the rest of the world.

While sipping his drink he watched Tristan sit down at the edge of the hot springs and slip his feet into the water. When their eyes met, Marz felt his heart skip a beat, and once again he silently chided himself for having fallen in love. Since he really didn't want to think about the incident in the alcove, he sighed deeply when Tristan brought it up again. Although his lover gave him the option of not discussing it, he knew that if he didn't say something the incident would continue to haunt them.

He set his wineglass down then moved to stand between the dragon's legs. His hands gently roamed along his lover's thighs while he gazed deeply into his dark eyes. "We were temporarily taken over by the evil influences in that temple, Tris. I'm not proud of what I did to you there, and I'm sure you're not happy with yourself for begging me to do it. Since we can't go back and change things, we just have to accept what happened and push it out of our minds because nothing like that will ever happen again."

His hands slipped around the dragon's back then he pulled him off the rocks and into his arms. They shared a profound kiss, their bodies pressed tightly together. Marz was always amazed by how perfectly Tristan's body fit against his. They were, indeed, part of the same whole.

A silly grin played upon Marz's face when he finally put some distance between him and his lover. "I think we should eat then go off to work on closing the chakras." He cocked his head, an evil glint coming to his eyes. "But first, we have a little fun." His hands latched on to Tristan's hips then he lifted the dragon into the air and tossed him into deeper water. After laughing at the huge splash his lover made, Marz dove. He swam up behind Tristan as he surfaced and spun him around. Their lips met again before Marz pulled then under the water where no one would see the heated kiss they shared.

They surfaced in time to hear Erlic announce that he had spoken to Dalo and that there was a good chance that Eremis would be rescued today. Marz glanced at Tristan and smiled, knowing that such news made the dragon happy. "Well once Eremis is safely back at the tavern, we'll have one less thing to worry about, right?"
