Spike's the best thing on television these days, exciting, intense, sexy, smart, sarcastic, erotic, bad, sensitive, you name it, he's got it. Last night's episode was a rerun from earlier in the season, but it was one of the best episodes ever, lots of hot hot Spike stuff, and then that ending, wow. Buffy went to Spike because he killed two slayers in the last century and she wanted to know how he did it or what the slayers did wrong that caused them to lose the fights. We got to see lots of Spike history, the fights in which he killed the slayers, a real hot scene with Drucilla, wow, and lots of real good dialogue and intensity between Spike and Buffy. I hate it that they put a chip in his head so he couldn't bite. The second half of last year was awful because of it. Just Spike standing around feeling sorry for himself. But this year Spike is doing a lot more, and the whole Buffy fixation is really making things more exciting. I have no idea if James Marsters is leaving the show. That chip thing bothers me because part of Spike's appeal is the anticipation of badness, and the will he or won't he, just like with Todd. If Spike CAN'T bite, it takes the anticipation away, and it takes away the significance of the times he chooses NOT to bite. I'd much rather see him able to bite but choosing not to sometimes, and being unable to resist at other times. Trog, well, I still love Spike, but the chip thing takes a lot away, including the scariness. I want Spike scary, as well as hot, fun, sarcastic, exciting. De-vamping the vamps, whether it be that they're cursed with a soul or stuck with a government chip in their heads, either way they're not vampires anymore, so what's the point?
