It was done on commercial radio in 1955, 1964, 1968, and 1988 on NPR.

Even the Stark Trek cast did it in 1994 live. I guess Beck is technically right that nobody has done it Exactly like he will This time on Commercial Radio but it has been done before. It's a challenge to produce [sound reproduction and all] and perfect for public radio. On wpht it doesn't fit.

And this comes from somebody that likes his show.

Don't worry beck will have fewer people listening then the usual several hundred. This is a worn out stunt. No one listening no harm done.
