  • he is the one who has recruited the kids for the past 5 years. This guy is a joke and is getting lucky. If we keep him, we are doing a favor to all the NY college baseball programs. Just because he argues with umps does not make him a good coach. He did not play college ball, coached at Manhattan in mid 90's when they won 6 games in 3 years, then went to Fordham for the worst 5 years in Fordham history. What are you guys thinking??? Nick was at Manhattan for two years, not three, and was an assistant coach, not even assistant head coach. And he's undoubtedly doing a nice job with the team now.             • "Pleasethink," your moniker is too inapt to ignore. Your first post was a slanderous, inaccurate and hysterical rant -- and it's been downhill from there for you. The baseball team, by all accounts, is playing heads-up, solid, fundamental ball. In the process, the team is doing a fine job representing our school, and winning some games. So why not reward the team by acknowledging its effort, and the fine job that our young coach is doing? The kids on the team members plainly like their coach, so in rewarding the coach, we'd be telling the team members that we're proud of what they are doing out there. You are one of those posters who make the student/athletes who read this board think that the Fordham alumni are, in the words of Spiro Agnew, nattering nabobs of negativity.                 • I can agree with that. That's why I said we should "consider" dropping the interim label. But whatever, we should acknowledge the fine job Restaino is doing. He took a program that had gone off the track, and he has it back on the track under some difficult circumstances. With no home games, and an interim coach, it could have been easy for the team to mail this season in. Restaino took a heap of abuse from the know-it-alls on this board before the season.
