Subject: As I posted below, Lowe made his decision based on his perception of the "level" of the program, facilities, the campus location(which was huge), the fact that the school would take him before he qualifies and playing time. In that order.

In terms of what was out there at this point, UMass did well. Apparently Lowe was swayed by the fact that he would likely have a shot at a starting job, and the abundant playing time available. That's the breaks, sometimes. The qualifying issue is huge, however.
