Well, sometimes you just get beat. I'm skeptical that playing time wasn't more of a factor, however. UMass has a gaping hole at the point guard position. I can't imagine that the potential to start wouldn't have been extremely enticing to him. I talked to someone who spoke to Lowe himself after his visit. He said the first thing Lowe mentioned to him was that the location of UMass was perfect. He wanted to get away from home.
