Not true. A pope may be married, unless he has taken a vow of chastity. Any baptized male is theoretically eligible. That's all this is required by church law. He does not have to have made other sacraments. He can be married with children too. However, a pope is always an unmarried man because he is without fail chosen from the College of Cardinals.
