  • Gonzo probably sees the limited upside of Manhattan basketball. Although Manhattan, I believe, is committed to playing competitive basketball on the national level, other members of the MAAC are not. This has the unfortunate impact of dragging the Jaspers down. You are known by the company you keep, and there are a few members of the MAAC that drag the rest of their conference mates down. You have to give Manhattan credit. They routinely accomplish more than you might expect they could. They schedule some big-time out-of-conference games, and will travel anywhere to increase their exposure.   • Don't rule out Stony Brook who has some $$ to toss around. Although I hear Jim Ferry may be headed out there. Its wait and see for Gonzo, once a few of the big jobs are filled, he might slide into wherever those coaches came from. He must be doing something wrong in these interviews.
