Subject: Have to disagree with you on this one, Rambacker. While poker has long been a pasttime for college kids, ElJefe is right, interest in games like Texas Hold'em are at an all-time high. Having the tourney in a gambling mecca would be a PR black eye for the A-10. Yes, many tourists go to AC and never gamble - in the summer. In early March even the boardwalk isn't open. What would college kids do but try to sneak into a casino?
In reply to: Rambacker 's message, "The vast majority of students would not be allowed in casinos. Since when was poker not a craze on college campuses? It's been played in dorms for 100 years now. I suggest you take a trip to Atlantic City and then let us know what you think. It ain't what it used to be. Many go there for a weekend and don't even think about gambling." on Sun March 13, 2005 22:46:18
