Have to disagree with you on this one, Rambacker. While poker has long been a pasttime for college kids, ElJefe is right, interest in games like Texas Hold'em are at an all-time high. Having the tourney in a gambling mecca would be a PR black eye for the A-10. Yes, many tourists go to AC and never gamble - in the summer. In early March even the boardwalk isn't open. I completely agree, '83. The A-10 in AC sends the wrong message. So far, Cincy has failed and unless things are much better next year, they should be dropped from the rotation. Put the Palestra back in the rotation, keep Dayton and try DC and Richmond. (NT) -- bfg, Mon March 14, 2005 10:07:37
- The reason I brought up AC is that my friend who just spent a weekend there said the new indoor "family-friendly" venues are huge and were worth the trip for he, his wife and kids without even considering gambling. Although I must say, I'd love to see the tournament played permanently at the Palestra. The A-10 Tourney should use the BE model and pick an ideal location and stay there to build continuity.
