Subject: I view Binns and Greene as having different roles. IMO, Greene is the better perimeter defender. He rotates well and can cover the 3 pt. arc. He also seems to be a decent slasher, I just wish he did more of it. Binns has a bigger body and is a better banger underneath. That being said, he spends too much time outside. Against a perimeter team (St. Joe's), I think DW uses Greene. Against a taller team (GW), I think DW prefers Binns. In the off-season, Binns needs to bulk up and Greene needs to work on his mid-range jumper.
In reply to: JCC 's message, "From a distance, one really wonders if Whit doesn't have some sort of peronality conflict with Sebastian Greene. This is not to say that Greene is the perfect player. Like many freshmen, he makes more than his share of mistakes (not being enough of a presence underneath to take the pressure off of Dunston; taking three-point shots that would be better left to the guards etc.). But Whit seems to get into Greene's face mauch more than he does with other players who make similar mistakes. At the games I've attended, Whit seems to be screaming at Sebastian half the time he's in, and doesn't give him enough playing time to work through his freshman jitters. I'd be curious to see what others on this board think about Greene and how Whit deals with him." on Thu March 10, 2005 21:28:27
