I think that Omnius, or Agamemnon, even, may be part of the story in Dune 7. Several times through the books, Herbert mentions that atomics have been kept around "in case the human race ever discovers another intelligence out there." In other words, a true non-human rooted alien race. Maybe the enemy will be spawned from a collaboration of Omnius and this alien race...
Also, The Teilaxu Master has the cells of Muad dib in his chest. Could we see a ghola of Muad dib in this last book?
