It could be the chance it needs to get a gwent region. Brown has gone so financially now the club has to balance the books.

It cant afford the high profile foreigners and appealing ONLY to newport as it does now it wont survive. Its only chance is to appeal to Gwent as a whole.

For that to happen the name has to change to drop newport, the board has to be replaced by one not 100% newport rfc controlled. They have a LOT of bridges to rebuild after the damage theyve caused in Gwent but its their only chance of survival.

Either a gwent team or down to 3 pro sides it doesnt bother me, as long as the newport standalone is demolished im happy - the people that formed that entity deserve all they get.
