The Ebbw Vale Supporters Arena

  • Statement on the home page -- Graham, 02:12:12 02/11/05 Fri (ebbwvale.plus.com/80.229.160.12)

Our team manager has made a statement with regard to the 3 deducted points.

He makes a good point about who is responsible for the players’ safety.

If we had to borrow a front row player from the lower leagues (division 3 for example - no disrespect intended), with the obvious difference in ability and fitness levels, will the wru take responsibility if that player is seriously injured?

Didn't a player take the wru to court a couple of years ago because of a referee's ineptitude (or something similar)?

  • Ben's Ban -- Graham, 00:12:20 02/10/05 Thu (ebbwvale.plus.com/80.229.160.12)

Is Ben's ban actually have any effect on us? I was under the impression that he was leaving us to play for Sale, so if that is the case, how will it impact on Ebbw Vale?

Anyone got an official line on this one?

  • 3 Points ... ?? -- :-), 09:16:02 02/10/05 Thu (hide-235.nhs.uk/195.10.45.235)
Firstly ... great win last night. Superb effort in the second half against the wind and Macca's try was a gem. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Secondly, checking out the updated league on Ceefax and the BBC sport website (obviously same source), we have 33 points from 11 wins i.e. no deduction ... !!

The deductions for other teams still seem to apply - Newbridge 4 wins and 9 points and Bridgend 13 wins and only 36 points. Does this mean that we have our 3 points back or are the leagues wrong ... ??

    Hopefully the former ... !!

Well you can slump comfortably back in your chair with a nice cold refreshing pint, and congratulate an injury ravaged ebbw vale side on winning at llanharan by 25 points to 18.

  • Is it me.... -- CJ, 12:11:04 02/09/05 Wed (host81-158-109-15.range81-158.btcentralplus.com/81.158.109.15)
Just wondering, is it me or is the WRU clamping down on backchat to the referee while condoning outright dirty play.

Fair enough, Ben is a bit chopsy, and if the law is followed properly he should get a red card.

But then when he also gets a two match ban this is a little harsh.

Shame he wasnt an up and coming welsh international really. A rolemodel to young players. The WRU have showed the junior players that stamping on somebodys head, being sent off, but not complaining about it will result in the red card being sufficient punishment.

I have no problem with Ben getting a ban. He broke the rules and deserved it. I do have a problem with the consistency of the WRU.

Lets all give the WRU a big round of applause. Well done the WRU

  • Never Thought I'd Say This ... -- :-(, 09:40:46 02/09/05 Wed (hide-235.nhs.uk/195.10.45.235)
As we seem to be in such a hole here with this terrible injury situation, why don't we ask to borrow our two permitted regional players from the N*****t Gwent Dragons?

Look at the damage Robin McBryde (Carmarthen Quins) and Adam Jones (Llandovery) did to us. I know we as a Club seem desperate to avoid any favours from the region, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

To not have enough players to sit on the bench is absolutely appalling. You cannot blame Llanharan for not wanting to re-arrange the fixture. I am sure we'd do exactly the same if we were in their position.

Going down down tonight, but with absolutely no confidence at all ...

He's been given a 2 game ban according to your official site folks, so not too bad. Guess you could really have done with him for the game tonight though as Llanharan are pretty tough up front ! Good luck though, hope you get a win ( Also cause it'll help Pooler mind ;-) ) and get your season back on track !

Ben is a very lucky player. He has got away with a two match ban. It was expected that it would be much more than this. Of course it does us no good as he would be at Sale anyway.
