Subject: Every time the US invaded Canada, the Canadians kikcked their pansy butts

Simply a fact. The US was chased out of Quebec, chased out of the Niagara peninsula, chased out of south west Ontario. Yes, the Americans took York, but then got their collective rag-tag asses thoroughly kicked.

In US schools, of course, you won't ever hear about that but its still a fact. In a US history class you will learn that everything was the Battle of New Orleans. Yes, there was an American raid on Bristol, in retaliation for the Washington raid, but it rather fizzled.

Yes, the fighting in 1812 see-sawed around on the northern border, but one has to also consider that Britain was fighting Napoleon just across the Channel in Europe: they were in a real fight with a real threat close to home, and the North American thing was a very minor side show. For the Americans, on the other hand, this local show was a major war.

Beyond that, depicting soldiers as toy soldiers is simply true and fair. NO ONE should EVER imply that soldiering is an honorable, noble, or admirable employment. Anyone who thinks that as a soldier he or she is anything OTHER than a pawn or a toy is deluded.

fyi: a mayor or deputy mayor in Canada is addressed as Your Worship, not as Your Honor.
