Criag is spoiled by big american Iron .

Those little commuter cars are the staple of the rest of the world transportaion net much as the vespa and other two wheelers are in developing nations.

There was nothing wrong with the 2CV it was cheap ( in more ways than one but that's part of the appeal ) and it was basic ( and I mean basic ) transport on a budget.

People don't know or remember some of the earlier US made cars that were much like the type that were really big sellers here. Some of the cycle cars were not much better or a bit worse but they were relatively popular as were three wheelers like the Morgans which were also long lived with little or no changes for most of their existence.

ALso US drivers did not need to deal with either those old european horse paths that they called roads or the high taxes levied on larger cars, more hp cars or some of the other european taxes that kept the small car popular there long after it would have fallen by the wayside without the extra expenses for the alternatives.

By the way I sort of like those little tin cans with the motorcycle engines but then I like the ride in english sports cars also.......
