Subject: I would venture to guess the degree in which oil matters is just an eschelon or two higher in NASCAR than Dean's garage... but hey, I'm just some punk streetrider... what would I know?

Thinner oil, to a point and synthetics are a plus for power. One things for sure, like NASCAR or not, they spend MILLIONS upon MILLOINS testing this stuff. Exotic ( read that light weight) materials oils, even read where they did tests on water additives and "non-water" counterparts.
