Battery Killer Tiller

Hi, My TLRX is eating batteries, I know they can be heavy on em as I've stoke to a few owners over the last four years I've had it, but the last one was dead in two weeks! YTX9 BS/ got a feeling this is the wrong battery though/ getting YT12 ABS YUASA on Friday.Until then I have a few days to check out the wiring to see if there is any dodgy connections anywhere. Bike is backfiring worse ( used to just pop a blue flame in the corners occasionally) TRE, RPM, airbox mods, cans and mapping done, 128hp at the back wheel and normally runs sweet as a peach. Please, anyone give me some direction in witch to look to solve this, my life is not complete without the TL (sad)

A multimeter is fairly cheap these days, check your charging voltage across the battery at 3000rpm ought to be in the low 14V range, provided the battery is externaly fully charged to start with.
